Well everyone thought Morosi was a credible source. Plus Sports net did pivot the Kypreos and Bourne show and asked Blair and Barker to do an inpromptu show yesterday. So I don‘t think any of us were gullible.
It's been like two weeks of hype, ending with yesterday's mania of chasing airplanes. This whole time Roger has been playing us all like a fiddle, adding fuel to the fire, acting like they are actually in on it.

The reality is, we just wasted two weeks and likely missed out on everyone else who was decent and available.

I
I think its was more about staying on the West Coast. Jays would have probably have to overpay by $100M+. which would be insane.

Oh well it was a fun fairy tale when it lasted...

Now though, Vladdy & Bo are gonna knock on Shatkins door, hey you were gonna give that guy money, where's some for us.
really think Jays went to 600mil or a bit more and forced Dodgers to spend 700mil. That’s 150mil more than expected.
Would be interesting to know did Rogers stopped after they know Dodgers offered at 700mil or did Othani camp just said 700mil is more than enough, and didn’t even let Jays counter.

Oh well i dont have to eat my hat... Shatkins gonna really feel the hate now.
Only a true idiot would pile on the hate. $700 million and they Jays were in it until the end? Hello!!!

Ohhhhh buddy, it’s going to be bad now.

This is basically going to be the Berrios 3rd inning decision on steroids. Lol.
See? Point proven right away...

Wait for next season when Soto is going to do the same thing.
At this point, we just need to accept that unless Jays massively overpaid, true top players won’t come.
Let’s all remember this for next season with Soto
Soto is a bit different. Obviously he will still chase the money (Bora$) but I think Latin players like Toronto more than Japanese players. It will probably be an easier sell than Ohtani who seemed quite content on the west coast.

Oh God, please don't overpay Bellinger and Chapman. The Jays about to be that guy that misses out on the girl they like and hook up with some ugly chick at a bar.

And here we have Chicken Little effect now, when literally no one went off the board but Soto.....who the Jays would have had to empty their farm for.

That’s what we said about Japanese players for the past weeks.
Honestly, you already brought into the hype before it starts, lol.

I want nothing to do with Bellinger. Trades look like a viable route to upgrade since there isnt much point in blowing a ton of money on pitching when its by far our greatest strength. As the playoffs showed, doesnt matter how well you pitch if you are going to allow 5 runs in 2 games and lose both games convincingly.

Ohtani would have been treated like a god and had all of Canada behind him if he signed in Toronto. Sucks. I think Canada would have been good for his private life too.
How can you say Canada would have been good for his private life if Toronto media is already stalking him before he even signs with the Blue Jays with all the plane-tracking nonsense?

They did the same with Kawhi, following him around in helicopters.

I think the Jays probably move quickly and sign Hernandez in the next 48-72 hrs. He improves the offense and improves the mood of fans after the Ohtani sweepstakes.

No one else signed.

Only thing we "missed out" on was Soto. And quite honestly he went for a price that I would have been unwilling to trade for one year of play.

hE's oN tHe pLaNe NoWw i SaW HIm

that guy needs to be fired. What a ridiculous ride. How do you get that so wrong

Well ain’t this a bitch.

We got trolled hard yesterday about some god damn plane that wasn’t even Ohtani, the biggest guy punch today was the 10 year/700 million the Dodgers forked up for him.

Where’s that fat ass idiot Sid Sixsiero?? He gonna rage yell about how the Jays got punked? Or will he eat a cheeseburger live on air to air out some grievances.
Sid Sixeiro is probably the person I want to see discuss this chain of events the most.

He is GOING TO LOSE IT live on air.

There were thousands of people tracking a flight he wasn't even confirmed to be on and going nuts all over social media. How the hell would he have had any private life in Toronto?
