Sullivan really is an idiot at this point.

I'm sorry, but it's inexcusable that Rodrigues continues to play on that top line. He literally kills plays every single time the puck goes to him. The other team doesn't even have to put their shutdown defenders or match up center versus Crosby and Guentzel because Rodrigues is doing a Selke-level performance of shutting down that line's offense.

Usually when Sully makes line changes I hate they surprisingly work but then, it's not the line changes I hate, it's the line he kept.

Outside of ERod on the 1st line, I really like those other 3 lines

I think McCann's play so far this year has definitely warranted a bump in ice time. This line is also building a 3rd line around Blueger that I want to see, and one I hope to see get addressed via trade.

My goal for the forward group is it to end up like this:

Zucker-Crosby-Kapanen
Guentzel-Malkin-Rust
McCann-Blueger-McCann caliber RW via trade
Tanev-Jankowski-Sceviour

I'm not convinced that Zucker and Guentzel will ever be swapped, but I think the rest of that is fairly reasonable to end up having by the playoffs.

Good job promoting Blueger to the third line. The third line was garbage the last 3 games.

I like the looks of the fourth line. This is why another top 9 RW would make this team pretty dangerous.

Tbh if Sullivan was going to insist on a depth forward option to play with Crosby for whatever reason he had, I really don't get why the Penguins didn't just keep Simon over signing Rodrigues.

The team obviously didn't foresee Kapanen's late arrival, sure, but you know Sullivan always had a depth guy he liked playing in an elevated role in case of things like injuries, suspensions and poor play. Why did they pick Rodrigues for that role instead of Simon, who had worked in that role before?

I don’t even hate having Kapanen on the third line long term but when the alternative is Rodrigues on the first...well man. And at a certain point the whole “need to get up to speed” excuse becomes just an excuse.

I was just looking at CF... I thought pens still had simon... I thought he was IR, but he's gone... where'd he go?
ZAR is IR.... he planned to play this season at all?
