Was curious so took a look, and aside from Vegas and Seattle, New Jersey is the only team never to have been swept. For posterity I put the list of everyone's last sweep below:

Anaheim - 2018 (Sharks)
Arizona - 2011 (Red Wings)
Boston - 1993 (Sabres)
Buffalo - 1993 (Canadiens)
Calgary - 2017 (Ducks)
Carolina - 2019 (Bruins)
Chicago - 2017 (Predators)
Colorado - 2008 (Red Wings)
Columbus - 2009 (Red Wings)
Dallas - 2001 (Blues)
Detroit - 2003 (Ducks)
Edmonton - 2022 (Avalanche)
Florida - 2022 (Tampa)
Los Angeles - 2018 (Golden Knights)
Minnesota - 2015 (Blackhawks)
Montreal - 2009 (Bruins)
Nashville - 2022 (Avalanche)
New Jersey - Never been swept
Islanders - 2019 (Hurricanes)
Rangers - 2020 (Hurricanes; in the play-in); otherwise, 2006 (Devils)
Ottawa - 2008 (Penguins)
Philadelphia - 1997 (Red Wings)
Pittsburgh - 2019 (Islanders)
San Jose - 2010 (Blackhawks)
St. Louis - 2021 (Avalanche)
Seattle - Never been swept
Tampa - 2019 (Blue Jackets)
Toronto - 1981 (Islanders)
Vancouver - 2013 (Sharks)
Vegas - Never been swept
Winnipeg - 2021 (Canadiens)
Washington - 2011 (Lightning)

What makes this even more of an obscure stat is that Leafs are the only team whose latest sweep is from 1980's, only three team from the 1990's, and 15 (if I counted correctly) teams have been swept in the last 5-6 years.

As we know, March 9th, 1991, Theo Fleury scores a hattrick all with shorthanded goals. Two of which came 8 seconds apart on the same penalty kill.

How many players scored 2 SHG in the same penalty?

I think, also Palffy did in his last game for Islanders, didnt he? Who else?
I remember JT Compher doing this about 3-4 years ago on the Avs. I think they were playing the Coyotes. Someone can correct me, but I think it was the same penalty kill he scored 2 SH goals on.

I guess I got lucky looking into this. I went to Avs schedule for 2018-2019 and opened box score for their first game against Arizona. But yes, you are correct.

Elias Pettersson and Eric Staal both did it this season, but in their case the goals were empty nets.

Although Maple Leafs and Red Wings also won more than 10 times (13 and 11 respectively), they do not always have HOF Goalie during their championship years.

This is a total random, but what happened with Scotty Bowman's pulling the goalie (Barrasso) in this 1984-85 game, early in the season (Oct. 26, 1984), Buffalo @ Detroit's Joe Louis Arena?:

Sabres vs. Red Wings Box Score: October 26, 1984

The Wings were up 4-3 with a minute left. So, okay, Scotty pulls Barrasso. The Wings score an empty-netter to make it 5-3. With 49 seconds left, you'd think Bowman would put the goalie back in, but he doesn't. Five second after the face-off, the Wings score another empty-netter to make it 6-3. There are now 44 seconds left and a three-goal deficit. Scotty still doesn't put the goalie back in. The Wings score a third empty-net goal with 15 seconds left to make it 7-3. (Consequently, players like Housley and Andreychuk go -5 in the game.)

What was Bowman thinking here??

Were the same Buffalo players on the ice for all three empty net goals? He might have been punishing players he thought had a particularly poor effort and wanted to embarrass them and make a point of some kind.

Yeah, that was the only explanation I could think of.

I might be slightly off (there were two game logs where it wasn't clear what time Roy was switched), but this should be in the right ballpark.

(No, I'm not presenting this as serious research. On average, any goalie would do worse against Neely - or any other top goal-scorer, for that matter. Still - Roy might not have been able to hear Roenick because of the Stanley Cup rings plugging his ears, but I'm guessing he paid attention whenever Neely was on the ice. I wonder if, as a result, he enjoyed Dumb & Dumber less).

While the Devils have never been swept they have had a few series where they fell vehind 3-0 but managed to salvage a game ir two, 1993 versus the Penguins and the 2012 finals against the Kings

The 90-91 Blues with Brett Hull (86) and Adam Oates (25) have the biggest gap between leading goal scorer and next-highest teammate, 61 goals.

I haven't looked further than 85-86 Edmonton but Gretzky's 77 assist lead over teammate Paul Coffey has got to be the record for that.

I probably mentioned this in the previous thread but this is one of my favorites - defenseman Gerry Odrowski scored only 12 goals in 309 NHL games but 7 of them were shorthanded, over half his career goals! Somehow he lost that ability in the WHA though, where he played almost the same number of games (282) with one shortie... however he scored 4 powerplay goals in the WHA, something he was unable to do even once in the NHL!

I used to think Robin Burns on the 74-75 KC Scouts was the first player to wear #13 but turns out Jack Stoddard on the 51-52 and 52-53 Rangers wore it, his only two NHL seasons...

It is strange that #13 was so rarely used. Even in the 80s the only players I can remember wearing it were Ken Linseman and Bob Brooke.

Many know about the trade that brought Dave Semenko from North Stars to Oilers. Or to say it better way, his rights to NHL Oilers.

Oilers swapped their 42th pick (became Neal Broten) and 63rd (became Kevin Maxwell) to Semenkos rights and 48th (became Mark Messier).

Though the article that I am later quoting says that Oilers would have got North Stars 69th pick too (became Glenn Anderson). Some modern sources claim that to be part of expansion draft shanigans.

But that seems more history altering that it is. Trade was made just before Oilers 42nd pick. They had to know Nanne wanted Broten to North Stars. So Oilers weren´t that interested about Broten. And they were trusting that Messier would still be available in 48. And they may have picked Messier without this trade. And they would have likely found away to get Semenko anyways.

But there is bigger what if. Oilers wanted Dale Hunter on 42nd pick. But Hunter was just picked by Nordiques on 41st. So this trade was their plan B. So if they would have picked Hunter would Messier still be available in 63rd?

Edmonton Journal 10. Aug 1979
In round two, Oilers figured they´d make it a family affair by drafting Dave Hunter´s 19-year-old brother Dale out of Sudbury. But Quebec Nordiques got him one step ahead of them.

So they went to Plan B.

They gave Minnesota GM Lou Nanne a call and offered to switch draft choices in return for the rights to ex-Oiler tough guy Dave Semenko. Nanne quickly agreed. So Oilers swapped their last pick in round two to North Stars for their third-round choice; and followed that up by dealing their third-rounder for Minnesota´s fourth pick.

"The deal´s been cooking for awhile," said Oiler GM Larry Gordon. "We just left things hanging to see how the draft worked out...

I always remembered Lorne Henning for that, but he was 18 of 73, or just under 25% I guess. Just 2 PP, so a 9:1 SH : PP ratio must be up there for someone who played over 500 career games.

Going through some 1979 draft stuff and I guess I can throw this too because personally I did not know this. Dino Ciccarelli went undrafted in 1979 draft (though Lou Nanne was already considering him in third round). The reason seems to be that he had serious injury in previous seasons and there were lot of doubts could he play in NHL. Fractured mid-femur just above the knee in a freak practice accident.

"All the clubs knew about him but no one wanted to take a chance," said Nanne. "But we almost put In a claim in the third round."

Funnily enough Buffalo and Scotty Bowman were the ones competing from him after the draft with North Stars.

Minneapolis Star 31. August 1979
"Nanne made me an offer about the same as Buffalo's," said Ciccarelli. "And then we had a little talk." No doubt the North Star general manager pointed out that Buffalo had Danny Care and Rene Robert and Rlc Selling and Rick Dudley patrolling the right side and, realistically, Clccarelll's chances were better at Minnesota.
