I don’t mind Blake, I can’t stand Luc version 2021. We need someone under Blake that is more aggressive I like a balanced approach and think maybe there are not a enough different voices in the room.

We need a guy like Daryl to be honest lol. The respect being kid to Brown while morally is the right thing to do is really dragging down our hockey team. Someone needs to grab drew by that homeless looking haircut of his and get his ass in line. Drew isn’t “the voice of a locker room” he’s the yeah what he said guy tire pumper.

This team has no balls !

Re-hire Lombardi and get Tortorella to coach. I'm not sure if I'm joking or not.
I dont know about Lombardi but I keep watching this team and thinking Tortorella would be perfect on a 3 year deal.
Id sell off assets right now though that most here wouldnt agree with.
Have Tortorella come in and put every player on notice and say I dont care who you are, if you dont perform someone from the minors will get a chance to take your job.

Nah, see, hiring a yeller doesn't help the kids grow. We don't need kids playing scared. Those guys are only good for shaking up complacent veterans. Angry fans like them because they want catharsis.

Setting a playoff mandate has backfired so far. It has motivated Todd and Blake to be conservative in line construction and ice time. It may be something that has come from the top down, and - if so - has not been helpful.

We don't need another retread coach that inevitably never has long term success or ends up always looking for another job.

Yup. The goal was to be younger and better in the core. So far, with hedging, neither have really been accomplished.

I think tmc is doing a fine job. Change my mind.
Before I start I am calculating win % by wins divided by wins+ losses. Somehow in the NHL a team than went 35-35-12 is somehow .500 and am I abiding (like the dude) even though I personally think the team is 12 games under .500

TMac aka:The Bowl Haircutted Wonder was hired right around 4/16/19

18-19 The Kings finished 30th out of 31 teams 31-42-9 (42.46 win %) -61 GD

The next season and The Bowl's first
19-20 The Kings finished 28th out of 31 teams 29-35-6 (45.31 win %) -34 GD
20-21 The Kings finished 25th out of 31 teams 21-28-7 (42.85 win %) -27 GD
21-22 The Kings are 22 out of 32 teams 10-10-4 (50 win %) -3 GD

So yes things are slowly getting better, but there are questions:

How much is personnel? The team on paper should be much better than last year.
Why is the team still so goddamn streaky?
Who shot J.R.?
Can the team play .500 hockey all season?

I think TMac has trouble controlling the highs and lows of the team and that they are too emotional.
I don't know if TMac is our Marc Crawford or Terry Murray, but he is not our Sutter
#NOTMYSUTTER!!!

Tortarella is at least entertaining - something the team is not and hasnt been since 2014...I dont think Blake has enough cache to land him let alone control him e.g dictate to play youngsters and not worry about playoffs just yet... funny re Clague: GDT: - Habs vs Lightning Dec 7, 2021 7PM

Blake and the organization as a whole definitely have the cache to land him, kind of a weird take given that he was coaching in Columbus the last half a decade...

As far as "controlling" him, there's no one in the league who could do that. He's going to play the lineup that he believes in and try to win games, period. That's why you hire Torts, and he isn't the hire we need for that and many other reasons.

What Im saying is that Blake hasnt proven he is any good and Torts wont go work for someone he doesnt believe in... you are right that no one can control him esp at this stage of his career.. But if we are going to get the wrong guy in here (which is the most likely scenario with Luc and Blake), Id take him over another of the many retreads out there.

This attitude right here is just another example of how the LA "media" doesn't really hold the team to account:

The sentiment here is that the fans are idiots, essentially. For whatever reason, they prefer to be (pre-emptively) combative with fans vs the team who isn't performing and those in charge. They don't ask tough questions of management and the coaching staff, probably because they favor the access. These guys even call the coach "Toddfather" which is just gross. Glorified PR.

To his credit it was probably hard to type and format that so well with a full mouth

I dunno, I guess I just take big offense to the idea that fans of such an old franchise are just dumb LA fairweather fans rather than the ones who stuck with them through thick and thin. Not gonna be such a good look insulting them with an empty building. I know he doesn't speak for the Kings but I also know that kind of arrogant behavior doesn't show well.

"lol they just don't get it" is a smug superiority take that you can't really afford to hold when you have a basement team for half a decade.

If it were as simple as 'just be patient' yeah, some of us did that for 40 years or our whole lives. I'ts not like we haven't seen a shit product before; the difference is a shit product stuck in the mud.

Bernstein and Hovan should be forced to exclusively cover a Canadian team for a while to gain some f***ing perspective

It's no wonder Blake and Luc love LA so much.

They get fellated for access by a tiny group of wanna-be-famous fanboys, only have to hold court for a tiny contingent of actual media, and rarely have to field any hardball questions. They can hide behind whatever shitty decisions they make and no one else in the league is going to give them any scrutiny. You just have to wonder when AEG will notice.

Maybe I was just too young to remember but when I first started watching the Kings in 2006 I don't recall hearing anything from him or any of the other current Kings insiders.

There was a tall lengthy white guy that covered the team well, who's name I don't remember at this moment.

I do find it strange how the current guys act like they know the team better than all of us and we're all idiots for having opinions.

What the maatta, I like to be informed on how guys like Weal, Mersch, Andreoff, Brodzinski, LaDue, et al are gonna be the next big thing!!!

Live your best life! But please take off the purple glasses schmuck
