I think ideally it's a player with term.

Nemec can't demand big money. He's under contract and cost controlled on an entry level contract.

You're playing well. You're not going to win the cup.

Send us Zach. We need another weapon.

Nemec is a stud. It's early, but my gut tells me he's going to be a top pairing defenceman.

It seems like he works with your window. If he was on another team, he'd be an NHL starter.

I don't want to trade him, but I think Werenski would be a filthy addition to NJD.

Yeah, the cap. We have contracts we can move in another trade.

I don't think you have any semblance of understanding about what players are worth.

Well, why don't you educate me

A Norris candidate (borderline Hart candidate) just entering his prime, with three years left on his deal after this one, is going to be worth more than anyone on the Devils, with the likely exception of Jack Hughes. [TSN rates Werenski as the 11th best player this year and J Hughes as the 19th, but Hughes is younger]. Prospects are not in the right value category, you can't get a player like this for a Nemec or even two or three of them.

I agree. Guy is filthy.

This is a very impressive used car salesman-esque approach.

Faulk may fit the bill. I’d guess Army would want to just get different looks at this point. Think he has 2 years after this one though. May be a bit lengthy of a contract as opposed to your criteria.

Don’t watch a lot of Jackets games, but it could be a pretty good fit for him.

Issue is we’re pretty thin in RHD and there aren’t many looking to be available soon.

You may be right. I thought Cassidy's offensive system was pretty free flowing, Grzelcyk, McAvoy, Bergeron, Pastrnak and Marchand were amazing to watch roaming and interchanging, but I don't know how you'd use Carlo or who you'd play him with.

Carlo plays best with puck moving defensemen like Lindholm, Grzelcyk and Krug. I think his struggles this year are because he hasn't had a partner like that with Lindholm out. When Lindholm was in the lineup, the Lindholm-Carlo pair has a 61.1 xG% despite getting 80% Dzone starts and playing against everyone's top line.
He paired with Werenski on the US Jr Team in 2015-16 and they were on the team together 2014-15.

Can't see CBJ doing this trade unless you add.
