Fisher sucks, good riddance to Oakland though, what a shithole that place is. And it’s hilarious to see the state cry and refuse to help keep the team yet turn around and ask for taxpayers to waste money on bullshit like the bullet train to Bakersfield

^ Yet St Louis, LA, Chicago, SF, Seattle, Philly etc aren’t shitholes??

Oakland is being scapegoated so that the owners can extort public funds from other cities under the threat of relocation. I can’t wait until Schools over Stadiums files their referendum and that gets tied up even longer.

Bay Area is so much bigger if a market than Vegas. It can easily handle both teams. The fans here have proven people will support the team when the owner gives a damn.

Point is, neither city should want to give a damn cent to the A’s until they promise to sell to a competent group.

Golden Knights say Hi.

And when was that? In the early 2000's and the Moneyball glory they couldn't get past league average attenadance. In 2019, they had 3 superstars and a good rotation pushing for 100 wins and were only 24th. In the 2010's always near the bottom even when contending for postseason finishing 29, 30, 27, 23, 24, 27, 29, 29, 27, 24 in attendnace that decade.

Since the pandemic and the 2020's it's become laughable the attendnace numbers. Dead last by unseen margins being double and triple lapped in attendnace by teams like Tampa and Miami.

Oakland dragged its feet and tried to chagne the terms of the Howard Terminal deal, I can't believe people think the city deserve no blame at all. And that some people are so naive to think a major pro sports owner, even being a billionare, could or would build a new stadium (creating business in said city) without help from the community? Has that ever happened...?

Don’t even need to read another filthy dingles post to know it’s full of ignorance and bullshit. They should really have a filter on here for fake news (and posters).

The city of Oakland still has over 400 million on the table for Howard terminal, which is more than the A’s even asked for originally. The A’s expected Oakland to balk at their demands so that they could look like the good guys when they bolted for Vegas, which was mlb’s plan the entire time. Now anyone with 5 minutes to research can tell the A’s and mlb are lying to everyone about everything.

I really hope the city of Oakland just refuses to negotiate with these rat bastards after the 24 season. If Oakland isn’t good enough for the future, leave now. But oh yeah, they wouldn’t get their 60 million a year to deal in Vergas which is why they want to stay in Oakland/the bay for the next 4 years……btw, what type of tv deal do you think they’ll get in a tiny ass market like Vergas??

Just absolute gutless rat bastards, and so is anyone who takes their side.

Amen, brother. Oakland did nothing wrong. Personally, I wish the city would just tell them to kick f***ing rocks and make them play their home games till they leave at Oakland Tech or some shit.

The Golden Knights comparison was only to show Vegas can be a viable market for a pro sports team which you otherwise claimed. Oakland sure as f***, aint.

And f***ing please, you're as full of shit as anyone on this forum. everything is some big conspriacy against you/thinks you like by bad people. someone disagrees with you, you resort to petty name calling. and as it's been shown, you'll lie or exaggerate or be flat our wrong, as well.

i knew never to take you too seriously with your hillarious trash ass takes on colin kapernick..

I said the Bay Area is a much bigger market, which it is. There’s a reason the A’s get 60 million a season from their tv deal to play here. That won’t happen in the desert.

Vegas is a sports city, but it’s a small city that is now saturated. The A’s are relying on selling out with 30k tourists every night when Vegas is unbearable in the summer.

Fisher doesn’t even have all the money to get this stadium built yet the league has approved the move. It will be hilarious to see what they do when something happens and the deal falls through.

Most of your posts in this thread have been bad, and most would agree with me. Not sure why you’re referring Kaepernick, but I don’t care to engage on it.

They know the A's are better off in LV. Oakland hasn't been much of an equal partner when it comes to replacing the coliseum. We can go on about how cities and state governments shouldn't foot the bill for billionaire owners but that's a waste of time, teams almost always get their way.

A's value will go up once the stadium is built and they moved to Vegas, wonder if Fisher sells them and cashes out.

If baseball was really better off in a crumbling desert than in Oakland than they’d get out of the last year of their lease in Oakland and just leave now since it would only cost around 1.5 million. They would rather stay and collect Bay Area money which is much bigger than desert money until their stadium gets completely publicly and privately funded.

Oakland still has more money on the table for their stadium than Vegas does. MLB wants Vegas at all costs. You can baselessly blame Oakland and say the generic “it’s been x years and no stadium “ replies, but those are completely ignoring the context here. The A’s never negotiated in good faith with the city of Oakland after the A’s forced the Raiders out of town.

The league also has tried to influence public opinion by outright lying about everything and having a sham committee run by the owners of the Brewers and Royals ( 2 teams that are gonna shake their communities for money) to unanimously approve it as a good move for baseball when it’s only good for the owners.

If Fisher owned your guy’s favorite baseball team, you’d look into him and this more.

You know it's going to be climate controlled right?

30k a night isn't a big lift. The Aviators draw 10k a night, so at worst you're needing 20k a night from tourists. That's 1.6 million a season.

1.6 million means they only need 4% of the tourists per year to go to a game (at the high end). Vegas gets 40m visitors a year.

Really that number will be lower when you take out the tickets the casinos will buy up for comps

Buying up tickets isn’t the same as selling them. If Fisher wants to eat a loss every single night since this lamebrained ‘plan’ is destined to fail, by all means, but they can operate at a net positive in Oakland on their tv deal alone without any attendance. I can’t see anything close to similar playing out there.

I have never been to LV but I'm willing to bet this team will be barely more beloved in Nevada than the Chargers are in LA, if at all.
