Confirmed Trade: [NYR/VAN] JT Miller, Erik Brannstrom, Jackson Dorrington for Filip Chytil, Victor Mancini, 2025 1st round pick (top 13 protected)

I am doom and gloom because I want this team to have players that want to win not whiney soft players that don't show up when it matters most.... hahaha ok then.....

I have some degree of faith in EP.......If he can ever manage to get his head on straight he could be a very good player........his defensive awareness is solid and he's shown signs of offense........I'm very interested to see how he makes out now that Miller is gone.........Outside of Hughes our fortunes are most tied to this player I think for the foreseeable future. If he plays like a superstar our chances increase dramatically. I see signs this is possible.........I'm an optimist by heart but we got a chance here with him for sure........

8 million for a #1C, or the best #2C in the NHL after Draisaitl is a steal.

Especially with the new salary cap numbers released this morning. 8 million is going to look like 6 million.
He’s 32 lmao he will have more seasons as a bad player for New York than a good one. I get the standards expectations for a centers are at rock bottom for New York but Miller will age like milk there, he isn’t in his prime anymore

I think this will do wonders for VANs season. Having that drama in the lockerroom is a constant burr--Wild suffered through years of Suter drama and you could almost taste the relief once the buyouts happened. At least VAN is in a position to get some assets in addition to the mental relief.
Addition by subtraction.

Lose-Lose in my opinion.

Vancouver doesn't get better and Rangers although probably better on paper is still in danger of missing playoffs and Miller is no spring chicken.
There is about a 3% chance they miss. They've pretty much got poor first half performances from virtually everyone and they're still just 5 points out of a spot.

There was also news 2 weeks ago that Quinn Hughs was tired of Miller's sh**.

Funny how everyone missed that one because it doesn't suit the narrative

I’m all the way on the east coast so I’m typically asleep when shit hits the fan in Vancouver lmao. What was the actual issue here?

We all know who the pouty haters are , who were going to say this regardless what the return was. And you were probably one of the ones saying what a disaster the Miller contract was when he signed it.

We can tell who is just being annoying and who is doing objective trade analysis.
Most people on here, including Canuck fans are reiterating what I said. Don’t let your bias fool you.

Miller has a solid contract. Doesn’t help the Canucks though.

All objective.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the trade, since Chytil has upside and Mancini's a valuable asset (big, young RHD) and Allvin is good with capitalizing on early picks. Hope he cooks with the ingredients he gets in the trade.
