I don't know if anyone here keeps up with wrestling, but this move kind of reminds me of AEW (WWE's main rival) getting rid of CM Punk because he was an asshole. The problem is, CM Punk was and is the biggest star they ever had, but the owner of the company sided with a few guys in the locker room who hated him. I look at it like if the Rangers don't get any better it's protected. Which seems fair. If Miller is an improvement over Chytil they should be able to make up 5 points or so over the next 30 games. They can still miss the playoffs and have to give up the pick.

Perhaps in past seasons—but his attitude and effort this year made it clear that he was not going to be that player for Vancouver anymore. Canucks had to cut bait while they could. The likelihood was that the offers would only get worse the more toxic that Miller became in the locker room.
