I actually love this.

They have a really, really tough stretch starting tomorrow. I'd much rather have my ducks in a row and press with most (if not all?) of what I'm going to go to war with in the spring than sit around and trot bullshit like Blais, Leshitshow and Harpur out there against some of the best teams in the league.

Not to mention you also have that time remaining to make any finishing touches you need to make on this roster and don't have to bog yourself down trying to chase your more pressing needs (remember the 2012 deadline when Sather was so fixated on Nash that he forgot to do anything else?)

Short of being able to land a middle six forward at a great rate that we can some how fit under the cap, the last remaining thing for me would be to get a quality 4th line player who can PK and has some zip and grind.
We don't play the Ducks again this year.

I don't see the big imperative to use him on the powerplay or not.

If the powerplay is running well, then it's running well. If it's not, he offers a different look.

Play it by ear, and make that decision on merit, not what "should" be.

He's here to do a job for us. We're under no obligation to use him on the powerplay to build confidence like a younger player.

If he's good at even strength, who cares where else the chips fall? What, the main boards might glance at his stats and shit on the trade? Those people don't shower.
PP2 desperately needs someone who is goon on zone entries. Not sure if he (or whoever he would bump) would solve that, but it'd be nice.

Amazing. PS5 is a great console but the catalog has been pretty lackluster especially for my taste so far, but this game takes me back to my childhood. I feel like it’ll take me forever to finish it though because I’m having so much fun exploring

It could even be K'Andre Miller or another 18 year old Chris Kreider.
Well that's the thing, we don't know.

A single 1st is plenty for the slow drip feed of talent we need to infuse over the next decade or so. The next core is already here.

I totally get your concern, and if we only had one 1st to begin with I'd be annoyed, but as long as we still have at least one going into the draft I'm ok with it.

If you think you can win the cup, you make short sighted moves to win the cup.

I don't ever make short sighted moves.

You should make good-value moves all the time. Then you will be loaded and won't need to rent.

I think we can win the cup and don’t think the move is foolish at all. Do you think we can win this year?

I think we have the same chance that any non-elite team has. We are outsiders even after this trade.

It's possible, it is just not good odds. Throwing away first rounders on low odds is bad business.

Of course Tank will be on the PP. Left-handed shot. Tro will get taken off which kind of stinks since he's great on the draw but oh well. They will figure out where to move him to get his shot off.

We're back, as in going to the playoffs (extremely likely) and having a non-zero chance to win when we get there. That's gonna be fun. That's what it's all about.

The hardware is luck-based and most cores come and go without winning one. That's just the reality.

It would be fun even if we went to the playoffs without spending a first on Tarasenko though.
