I mean just adding Tarasenko is big, but if he's able to spark something with Panarin, it could be enormous.

We also upgraded Harpur.

Addressed two areas of need in one move, basically for a first. For me it's hard to dislike.
Especially when you started with 2 firsts, I have no issues with the deal. It's the right player, right value, and the only wildcard is the same one it's been all year--is Panarin gonna get his head out of his ass

Congratulations on the Trade my friends,

Always enjoyed Tank on the Blues & respected his ability to perform in big games.

Looking forward to seeing him play for you.

Cond is the later of the 2 picks at least.
Good, as expected.

Very, very happy with this trade all around. Drury did well here.

And sadly, also highlights how f***ing awful the Buch trade was. Blais was just a throw in here. Nice NYR career you had Sammy. I guess that hit on Lucic is the only highlight, can anyone else think of anything?

Yeah the Buch trade just ended up dumb and awful. I still "get" it but the Rangers misread things and the players they hoped woudl step in weren't ready to step in

ohw ell

What’s most enjoyable about this trade is knowing how many stupid media guys were mentioning Kakko and Lafreniere as returns for Patrick Kane. Yes I am looking at you John Scott. But you weren’t the only one.
Was just thinking the same thing. I wasn't aware of the strong relationship between Bread and Tarasenko. If Tarasenko unlocks the Bread/Mika line and the Vesey/Trocheck bromance gets going with Kreider, we have 3 strong scoring lines. Goodrow is a huge upgrade on the 4th line. Don't know much about Mikkola other than this Seravalli write up: Niko Mikkola’s simple game on ‘D’ makes him a Trade Deadline safety net option

Blais is so scoring in the next game he plays. Maybe even twice.

Right player. Hate the return. Disappointed with Drury’s valuation again. Hope it comes with a cheap extension.

Team is truly in no position to be dealing 1sts but Rangers gonna Rangers.

Well they still have the other one FWIW.

We have to stop giving up firsts now.

This is how you get old fast.

STOP GIVING UP FIRSTS FOR RENTALS.

No more.

Cause we are going to be in the same position next year (non-elite playoff team).
look at it this way. We traded Lundkvist, Skinner, Blais, and a 4th for Tarasenko, Mikkola, and a conditional 4th. Do that trade EVERY day.

It's the lower of two firsts of two teams who are in the top like 7 of the league in the standings. Chill.

I'd bet Tarasenko's PPG goes up with the Rangers. I don't think he was always giving 100% with us this year and he had to play with some poor linemates at times due to injuries. Hoping the condition on the first is whichever pick is higher...

Yeah that’s pretty much the exact value of a 1st.

You mean foolish teams who don't study the results of rentals usually give that up at the deadline and then don't win the Cup? Yes, that's pretty much exactly what happens normally.

Tarry has 10 goals this season. Is this because hes on a bad team or is he washed? Haven't seen him too much this season

It's more than I wanted to spend this year. But it's also a fair trade value-wise.

NYR will get a 3rd or 4th back for flipping Tara's negotiating rights.

I'm just glad this officially ends any Kane talk.

One more 4th liner and I think we're near a full lineup.

(I would have rather dealt Jones/Kravtsov than the first, but perhaps their value is lower)
