I'm not sure anyone WANTS Richards on the team. We're just stuck with him, hopefully for no more than the next season.

The camera always looks up at McIlrath. Can't wait to see him in preseason this year.

God, I hope this kid is ready...only fear I have is him having to fight the Orr's, McLaren's and all the goons...I have no problems with him fighting the Lucic's and Neil's but that is why I was hoping we would get Bordedeau...we might need to sign a goon just to protect this kid from himself.

Well dont I feel stupid. I would think NHLers would have a bit higher Body Fat % to help absorb some of the hits. 8% doesnt leave much cushioning on the frame. My apologies.

The guys in Hartford catch flack, but they know what they are doing. You can be certain that all of em from Schony to Bueke have spent time preaching the need for Mac to pick his spots. He's a smart, smart kid. No dim bulb. He'll be OK.

I agree. With that said, they need to compliment him with someone up front. Dorsett is a gamer, but they need one other guy. I'm not asking for too much, the guy doesn't need to be a heavyweight who can't play.

Man not to be a dick but I really cannot believe a random dude posting on the internet about how fat Brad Richards is when all throughout his career he has been known for keeping himself in excellent shape

Sorry man, "my buddy knows a guy who..." is freakin' 3rd hand information

Dude, you know he was totally eating pizza with Drury all last summer.

Buchnevich and Sergey Tolchinsky were among the standout skaters. Buchnevich has a free and easy stride reminiscent of former Ranger and fellow Russian Artem Anisimov. Duclair showed why he is considered one of the fastest skaters in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. McIlrath and Boo Nieves also stood out for their skating ability.

Hearing McIlraths name mentioned with skating ability in the same sentence is honestly the best thing I've heard in a while.

Woah.

that is awesome...if only we had invited lyon messier again lol

What can anyone say about the invitees? Anyone worth signing for like Jean was last year? I know it's early to tell but still.

When a guy like him who was a risky pick starts turning negatives into positives you know you've got a good one. Kid is pretty damn smart and a hard worker, he wants it you can tell. He's getting thick too.

Yea, wonder how much he weighs now. 220 would be my guess

That's good. Glad he came over. How has he looked so far?

Just skating drills today, but the kid can skate very well.

Next four days are scrims, so we'll get a good idea after that.

Also, Duclair is being talked about as one of the fastest skaters out of the whole draft.

When was his skating ever a negative, though? I remember it needing a bit of work, but he's always been known as a big guy who can get out of his own way, ya know? He has certainly improved it even further since he was drafted, though! :)

Like you, I love the work ethic of the kid.

Everyone is raving about this kids skating - and he's posted good numbers in the past.

Sergey Tolchinsky

Its day 1. All they did were skating drills. More will be shown in the scrimmages later in the week.

And from what little I read on Tolchinsky today, it appears the kid hasn't seen his own defensive zone very often. Hopefully he's not a lost cause in that regard, as everything else I read (aside from his diminutive size) was encouraging.
