Brassgod is money in the playoffs. He'll be missed, a lot.

But we get back a younger player who isn't far off so hard to be too upset.

Seemed like a guy who thrived in NY so I don't know about this. I don't know about it for either team, honestly. Mika is an RFA next year so I guess he'll get a similar cap hit, for longer term?

My first impression is that this is a fair deal. A fair deal that came out of nowhere. I think Brassard is a very good player. High end second line center.

Brass is a far better player than zibby from what I've seen, but he is far younger so who knows who wins this in the long run.

Don't hate it for either team, but I think the Rangers win this deal. Not a fan of the direction the Sens are heading in personally... I don't think they should be trying to get older. They aren't close to a contender at the moment.

Sens fans what can you tell us about Zibanejad's game? I only watch the Senators when they are playing one of the NY/NJ teams and I don't particularly focus on your players...

Brassard has been one of the best Rangers over the past 2 seasons and playing some of his best hockey of his career... Initially I was disappointed to see him traded when I learned of this transaction...

But why?! Brassard upgrade over Zibanejad? Even if Zibanejad doesn't improve he's till just slightly the lesser player.

Very interesting deal, is it possible that Dorion was not impressed with Zibanejad in the exit interviews? Any talk of this Sens fans?

A little surprising that Ottawa had to add that much to Zibs for Brassard (though Brassard is quite good).

Zibby numbers are deceiving I still believe he will be a winger in the NHL

Good potential though
