Should have sold high when his flaws became obvious to those that watched him every night but he still had a high reputation around the league. 2012 offseason comes to mind.

That said, if he were taken higher than 15, it wouldn't be a huge surprise, because he has great offensive potential. But it would not be a shock either if he slipped a little. Scouts believe there's an immaturity to his game, that he's been negatively affected by the (rightful) perception that his stock has dipped over the last two years. Back then, it was assumed Del Zotto would be in the same class as Doughty, Bogosian, Pietrangelo and Schenn but a gap has developed between them and him and the sense is he's been bothered by that and is still working through it.

Set your expectations low, expect the worst. If something different happens you'll be pleasantly surprised.

No point in getting angry every time there is mention of our free agents coming back. That's the likelihood of the event.

My expectations for this team have been low almost every year since the first lockout .

I just totally believe Sather will overpay to bring back the same mediocre team, and the BS cycle continues.

Gologoski was a lot better in Pittsurgh. So is Neal. Playing with Crosby and Malkin will do that for you.

And there was off the ice stuff in Dallas. I don't now exactly what but about a month before the trade I posted that Neal was in play. Not many believed me.

The one thing I worry about is the lack of any offense from the blue-line at this point. Unless Moore really takes a step forward, McDonagh is the only d-man putting up any points.

Girardi has 15 in 52.
Stralman has 4 in 51.
Staal has 6 in 42.
Moore has 9 in 50.

Where is the offense coming from on the back-end?

I'm fine with Boyle as a 4th line player. He hits. He defends. He is one of the best PKers in the league... It just depends on his contract.

I hope he does just that. Boyle is a perfect fourth line player. Great locker room guy. Wins FOs. PKs. Has a streaky offensive game (which always comes out in the playoffs, by the way). Without Boyle, we don't get past Ottawa in 2011.

Because he's a very good second pairing guy? How are arbitrary statements that have no correlation related to your question? He's not a top pair guy because he's a second pair guy. He's played top pair minutes in NSH in the past during injuries. He's better suited on the second pairing.

Klein IS a very, very good skater and he's better defensively than Stralman. That means he has to be a top pairing dman, or those things can't be true? Because Stralman is the paragon second pair dman to be compared to in this league?

It's coming from the front, it's a modern age concept

Seriously putting the onus of offense on the forwards can also keep them defensively responsible. If they can sustain it through an Olympic year and playoffs it could work.

And I'm sure we're not done on the trading front, at least a playoff soldier that AV will request.
