Can he play left win? Montreal always need more wingers :D
Yes, but I think you’d be more interested after finding out his best hockey came as a center. Russia’s best player at the WJC playing center and at the IIHF 4 Nations where he played C

This is likely one of those unfortunate side effects of a big regime change and mandate from above, change in direction. Change in direction occurs and valuable pieces just get lost in the mix.

.....or, maybe it's just not his time right now? He's still very young with a lot to prove. Instead of taking a mature, professional view he appears to be throwing a fit. If I was Drury and so I would look at that as a major red flag and bad culture fit. See ya!

What do the rangers even want? Most teams would most likely need to trade a roster player to make room for Kravtsov at this point in the season since most rosters are set.
Another change of scene top prospect that has upside. That’s probably the best they can hope for.

Also, everyone trying to dunk on @EdJovanovski should shut the f*** up.

It’s plain rude to try to do this to someone when their favorite player is traded or about to be traded. There’s banter and there’s being a douchebag. Trying to tag him or mention him to try to dunk on him now is the latter.

Welcome to sports  if a player being traded is that much of a world shaker, you have a pretty damn privileged little life.

I think Kaut is a bust, make it a 2nd + Kaut?
Wait what? You realize he’s the same age as Kravtsov and they have nearly equivalent NHL success at this point right lol? Their AHL season from the same age was pretty equivalent to one another too. Both failed to make their teams out of camp this year.

The only thing separating these two is their draft position really. If Kaut is a bust, so is Kravtsov.

Hayton wasn't even a great AHL player... I'm not convinced he'll be an NHL regular. At least with Lias Andersson (who the Rangers traded away)... he was obviously one of the best/better AHL players on the ice every night.
Buddy. Hayton’s AHL numbers are superior to Kravtsov’s. Out scored him by like 10% in close to the same number of games.

Yeah he should have some shit thrown at him. But so should Drury.

Drury demoted a top 10 pick who plays on a position we're thin (RW) because he was afraid of losing Hajek/Gauthier to waivers... that's horrible asset management. Just wave Hajek and this doesn't happen.

Or trade Kravtsov before demoting him, talk about ruining his value.
Teams do things like that all the time with zero consequences, as it’s the teams option. He obviously wasn’t vital to the teams success if they were willing to send him down. You have to be big boy and do your time in the minors sometimes. He probably would’ve been the first call up like two weeks from now. Since this has already happened with the player I feel like it’s the player who’s being too sensitive or over rating his worth.

Drury actually did good asset management by avoiding giving up a player on waivers when he didn’t have to. If Kravtsov can’t be part of the team this way when he’s earned nothing yet then like I said, you don’t want him anyways. The Rangers are stacked with good young players and everyone always wants to sign there. They will survive the loss of a malcontent. If this set him off he was going to be set off by something else very soon.

Ehhh if he can be a center sign me up - the competition is pretty weak with Adam Brooks and Jake Evans currently slotted 4C and 3C respectively.

Considering this board is entirely about chirping, I think you're being an overly sensitive white knight.

That is not the point of this website. I come here to discuss hockey in further depth than I’d do with those I know or somewhere like Twitter/reddit, not have some anonymous person behind a computer screen try to be a douchebag to me when I’m upset.

This is a completely wrong take. Losing a top six potential top prospect to try to get a late round pick for Quadruple A(HL) guys is horrific asset management.

I think the biggest problem with Russian players is the fact they can usually pull in at least close to a million dollars in the KHL, so its harder for them to accept AHL paycheques.

Lol it's a f***ing prospect that didn't make a team and is too entitled to play in the ahl. What is there to be upset about? You're acting like his dog was run over.

Kravtsov is a victim of the Rangers winning the lottery twice and drafting (the obvious choice) wingers both times
No he isn’t. That is not what happened here. He is a victim of Drury not wanting to waive Gauthier or Hajek and the Rangers taking advantage of the fact that he has options while they wait for a deal to materialize with inferior players.

That's what we in the biz like to call "additional information". That reporting elucidates on the first tweet with context we didn't have before.

I think it was fairly obvious that the player was refusing to accept the decision made by the team to send him to the minors, and that the relationship which may have already been tenuous, had broke down enough to the point that the team gave permission to find a more suitable situation, while also putting it out there that they were doing so, so that everyone would know that the player was being difficult

I'm not very high on Kaut and I've never been high on him. I think Kravtsov is more build for the NHL and the playoffs, he feels like a safer bet.

But sure, Kaut + 3rd works. Knowing Drury we won't even get that, lol.

What you are talking about is completely irrelevant to what I mentioned. Why do you have to be intentionally disrespectful to someone? That’s not banter. That’s being disrespectful to someone when they are mad for the sake of it.

He definitely was. Button had him 23, Consentino 22nd, Pronman 15th, McKenzie 16th. Both Wahlstrom and Dobson were consistently ranked well above Kravtsov.

I go by my draft board. I had Kravtsov at 10, and Wahlstrom 11. They both went one pick later than I had them. I would’ve taken Dobson. He was BPA on my board. That doesn’t mean Kravtsov was a reach in that range.
