If somehow Dolan does not meddle with Drury and he is left to run it then this can be okay....
I mean... reports are he just fired JD, an exponentially more experienced veteran executive, for trying to “meddle” in his desire to fire Gorton. The idea of the president as buffer for meddling seems pretty much dead

Imagine if JD wasn't there.

What does JD have to do with what happened in Russia, ADA making culturally insensitive comments and COVID?
1) what happened in Russia?
2) so it was always about the "culturally insensitive comments" with ADA.

People form their own opinions, sprinkle in bits of truth, and spin it to sound as if their own narrative is fact...

Trying to figure out if Drury is

Well say goodbye to most of our blue chip prospects and young players. Guessing Laf stays and the rest (KK, Kravtsov, Nils) are all shipped off in bad value, win-now, toughness type trades.
I don’t expect that to happen if Drury says on as GM. He’s not an idiot. We probabaly won’t keep all of the blue chip young guys, and likely werent going to anyway, but the big ones will stay if Drury runs the show I think.

Yup, i think this is a given. Cant wait to trade Kakko for broken back Eichel.

Until he gets on Dolans bad side, then he’s on the chopping block

He knows what Dolan wants now. Bring in some grit and someone who can fight and lmfao, hey, wait for Trouba and Kreider and Lindgren to be healthy again next season and win some games with the talent they have.

Wrote a couple of months ago that Davidson should get rid of Gorton or he would be fired with him. It was in the cards

Gorton was, in my opinion (and I'm probably in the minority on this), overrated as the GM.

He lucked into Kakko and Lafreniere, and Fox and Panarin both wanted to come to the Rangers anyway. He made some bad trades, poor draft selections, and questionable signings. I think Drury will do fine as GM.

Honestly, the worst part about this besides JD going as well, is all the brainless Caps fans who have deluded themselves into thinking Tom Wilson is causing the downfall of the Rangers.

Well, you have to think that Fox and Panarin wanted to come here bcause of the groundwork that Gorton laid... If the rangers weren't seen as a rising phoenix from the ashes, Panarin likely goes to the Isles for the extra $1m/year

You know it would be very Ranger like for the team to FINALLY take the right course of action and perform a rebuild the proper way only for the crazy owner to come in and tear it all down right before we started to get good.

f*** this

This has zero to do with performance etc....

I think the people who want those things aren't taking into account it's going to be a push for more than.

It likely won't be as simple as getting tougher. There's going to be a desire for instant gratification here and it's going to include the potential pursuit of big ticket names at the cost of very promising young talent. And not necessarily in a measured approach.

You still haven't explained your own position lmao. You just keep quoting my posts and senselessly mocking them for whatever reason.
Don’t bother that poster has lived on nothing but a diet of lead paint chips and huffing glue... 2 brain cells both fighting for 3rd place.
It’s borderline amazing they haven’t short circuited their keyboard with all the drool...
