Fair, but if you look at comparable deals (Marino, Edmondson), those guys are superior players to Borgen and are paid less with less term.

You can't compare deals signed more than a half decade apart.

Since coming to the Rangers, he's 5th in TOI/G, but 3rd in EVTOI/G. Lindgren is 4th in TOI/G and will be gone. Schneider likely moves to the left side.

I like Borgen as a player but he had 2 points and averaged 15 minutes a game for a bad Seattle team. He's still young enough and it looks like he'll have a solid role with the Rangers, but that's bona-fide top 4 money. Hopefully he lives up to it but wow.
