I wouldn’t be surprised if they look to move TDA. Maybe with Kreider to get the second 1st rounder back.

I really hope this isn't true. TDA is a really, really good player. And now that he won't have to take top minutes on the right side, he should be even better.

We have been waiting eons for good, young RHD. Now we have two really good ones. We should preserve that, not instantly destroy it.

No need to trade off TDA yet. Nils (and Keane) is still a bit away. Let Fox marinate a bit in AHL, rotate TDA, Fox and Shattenkirk a bit. Next off season we have a clearer picture of both how our RD's stand, and what spots we need to fill.

Also plenty of pp time for all 3 guys. One can play next to Mika the other two can run pp2. Not many teams with 3 stud righty pp guys that’s for sure

Kravtsov, Fox and the likely improvements of Chytle, Howden, ADA...etc I think our roster with the goaltending of Georgie and Hank is absolutaly good enough to secure a 6,7.8 seed .
They may never hit their projections. They almost certainly won't within the next two seasons except maybe ADA. Georgie is still an inconsistent backup and Hank is another year older although I agree we can hope this off season is revitalizing him. Doesn't make him immune from age or potential injury though. We'll see what happens but it's more likely our team struggles another year or two with a ton of teens, rookies and barely 20 something players.

I took the evening to sit on this, mostly because I couldn't believe it. This is an unbelievable trade by Gorton, even if it only results in one year of Trouba. I was nervous over the last two weeks once Trouba's name popped up in Rangers rumors because I was really iffy on the potential cost for a guy- I figured it'd take at least one NHL roster player, the 20, and a good prospect- plus the additional cost of his long-term contract. I didn't think we were at a point in the rebuild where we could start dipping into the pool to make these moves since I think we're still dealing with a bit of unknown with how our young players will develop.

That being said, this finally gives us a guy who is actually able to play top-pairing minutes on the right side and helps us slot the rest of our dmen in more favorable matchups. I wouldn't trade Shattenkirk just yet because I think Fox would serve well getting a bunch of minutes in Hartford for the first half of the season. Let Shattenkirk have the softer 5v5 and top PP minutes, see if he builds his value, and then try moving him at the deadline.

Overall, this is an amazing job by Gorton. It definitely makes these next two weeks more interesting, but most importantly, we just solidified another long-term piece for this rebuild. The foundation is becoming more solid, and the future outlook of this team keeps getting brighter. Give this one more year, and I think we're truly looking at something special for the next 7-8 year stretch.

He's not going anywhere. Don't worry.

DeAngelo is a stud. Much better player than Fox. I’m not sure why this kid other than attitude continues to be overlooked but give me 22 to 24 mins each of trouba and DeAngelo per game. I’ll Be thrilled.

Trouba is the clear No 1 RD. He will get more ice time.

For DeAngelo to get into the 20's he is going to have to diversify his game. He's going to have to regularly face top 2 line players and he's going to have to penalty kill. That's his next step and it's not a small one. One of his issues and it's something that plagued Pionk is he's not that big or strong so he's going to have to get rock solid positionally and better defensively at taking away time and space.

I also wouldn't say he is better than Fox---that remains to be seen when Fox starts playing in the NHL. I have a hunch though that the Rangers value Fox over DeAngelo.

Trouba always seemed the perfect fit on the Rangers, given the current state of what the Rangers have on RD. He is going to be the lynchpin (to quote Mr. Brooks) of the Rangers’ D going forward. He will get the important minutes and matchups. Until Miller is ready, the Rangers wouldn’t have had that player internally. He has his flaws and he’s not a top tier Dman in the mold of Doughty. But, he just about checks all the necessary boxes.

All of that could happen and the Rangers could still not be a playoff team. None of this takes place in a vacuum. It cannot be staged enough....DEVELOPMENT IS NOT LINEAR!

Trouba will be very expensive to re-sign but Gorton knows what he is getting himself into.

I am not sure if anyone posted this already

The Rangers did not get permission to speak with Trouba and his agent, Kurt Overhardt, prior to the trade. But Gorton, who has since spoken with Trouba and Overhardt, and will again in the next few days, has a pretty good idea of what the contract numbers will look like.

“I have an idea what I think it will take, but it’s my ballpark,” Gorton said. “I haven’t talked to those guys about numbers. We’ve done our research to factor in what we think it might be and what a player like that’s worth. So we’ll move forward like that with complete confidence that we can get a deal done.”

Gorton knows the number and he is comfortable paying it.

The question is does Trouba want to be here for 8 years?

I think people are assuming he's going to sign but I'm not 100% sure it's a given

I was never enamored with the draft options at 20 like Hoglander or Brink or LaVoie. Even counting on quality D prospects to fall, you were hoping a guy like Seider or York would be there, and their realistic eventual upside is a top pair D like Trouba anyway.

The value we’ve really sacrificed with giving up 20 is that we could have conceivably used some NON Kreider assets to get from 20 to 14 or 12 and get a falling Newhook or Krebs.

Now we will have to get creative to get the center we want and need.

Not that I’m saying I’m against this trade. I wasn’t a fan of trading for Trouba when I thought the price would be 20/Lundkvist/Buch; or more. At this price it’s a steal. It’s basically for 20 straight up because Pionk wasn’t long for this team.

as far as ADA goes, i just don't see him being moved. his reputation throughout the league is still some what tarnished. the time to move on ADA would be :

1. when he has a solid season this year showing progression with his supposed attitude issues

2. when he shows the ability to handle more minutes and play reliable defense along with his outwardly offensive possession numbers which last year were just freakishly good.

hes not going anywhere right now.

lets all step back on fox for a bit. he needs to show he can play NHL minutes before we move ADA.

he was aquired to play soon but we cant pencil him into a regular shift yet. hes got to prove hes ready.

if im shatty, im not buying a new house right now thats for sure. hes the guy who should be looking over his shoulder.

They had a tremendous Black Friday deal for a year subscription. Was an insta-purchase for me, then. Will definitely renew.
Be careful with the renew prices your much better off canceling before the end and then rejoining using their ever present deals.

Meanwhile a bunch of us that joined the day carp got hired and got in at a good deal, we’re quietly charged the full $60’bucks for renewal, while they were offering subscriptions at 25$ for new customers. Maybe the money doesn’t matter to you, but there were like 6 of us who got charged for the renewal in the same week and everyone single one said wtf all i see are ads for 50% off and meanwhile they are getting us (the 1st ones to signup at full rate)
