Gorton sat through the deadline, post game 82 shuffle, entry draft, free agency, all of July - August and Traverse City Tournament is where he loses all sense of control and goes shopping for Adam McQuaid.
Exactly!
Why is that? Lol

loses all sense of control. lol This was a minor trade.
Death. Taxes. Machinehead meltdown.
I don't care that Adam McQuaid may 'stick up for his teammates' but I do care that he is now one of the best 6 defenseman on the team.
Fine with the move. Maybe the stupid fighting bull**** will at least keep McLeod, one of the worst players to ever wear our great uniform, out of the lineup.
This team gives me so much material.
And I'm getting twice as much with the "they're just doing rebuild things" stupid-spree they're going on now.
Gonna be a fun357 years![]()
I assume Rangers are preparing to trade DeAngelo or Pionk in a package deal. Or are Rangers flipping him to another team like the Leafs or Oilers for a larger return? Not sure we can get much more than a late 3rd rounder which is almost the same as our earthy 4th rounder.
Always liked him, he is like a bigger better, cheaper, younger and more physical version of Girardi.
Few months ago I mentioned that Bruins might pay us to take him as a salary dump, we ended up paying them.
Guys who weren’t in Traverse City who they could expect to have a spot or compete for a spot in camp:
Shattenkirk
Skjei
Staal
Smith
Pionk
DeAngelo
Claesson
Kampfer
O’Gara
Gilmour
Guys who were in Traverse City who would be expected to compete:
Maybe Hajek?
So yeah, nothing to do with Traverse City.
What about Bigras?
It's not McQuaid. It's the mentality behind this move.Do you series believe trading for McQuaid prolongs our rebuild?
I'd be very surprised if McQuaid is here after deadline.
Rangers like Pionk. They won't trade him.
I can see them trading DeAngelo who just hasn't developed. He still could but I can see Rangers getting a touch frustrated with him.
It's not McQuaid. It's the mentality behind this move.
Even if this is just a rebuild move, what's the ****ing point? What does a no-talent thug have to offer in terms of mentorship? I'll pass on any garbage "play da right way" habits McQuaid offers our kids.
The idea that meatshields are mentors is why this is the worst-coached league in pro sports.
Listen, I don't disagree with either of these takes.
But why can't we target someone who isn't terrible?
I know it’s a rebuild but please tell me who was the RD pker ? If you think they can’t flip MCQuaid at the deadline for Atleast the 4th complain otherwise don’t cause it’s just buying time for the kids to play in the AHL which they shoukd anyway
No need to rush Hajek or Lindgren
What makes you think McQuaid is a competent penalty killer?
I'm not sure what point you're trying to make, since we all know what the reality of the Rangers situation is.
Traverse City wasn't going so well so we brought in Adam McQuaid to keep 'em on their toes.
They did a nearly identical move at Valley Forge when they brought in Baron von Stuben but improved upon it as the Prussian easily would have fetched a higher draft pick.
Bigras is fighting for good AHL playing time.
