Everything you don't like always turns into 'the worst' with you. What gives with that?

So on the issue of games played--is it the games that Holden played for us in the '17 playoffs? or the ones he didn't play for Boston in '18? He was so bad in '17--maybe the worst playoffs by a Rangers defenseman that I've seen since Ozolinsh.

What---are we trying to win games? make the playoffs? or are we going for Jack Hughes? I know there's a lot of people here that somehow/someway want to accomplish all of those three.
Doesn't matter if we're trying to win games.

This rebuild is license for the FO to do even more of the same dumb shit they usually do and not be criticized.

Amazing how so many of our fans have fallen for AV's sissy, skating and puck moving philosophy. The tough, stay at home defenseman was lost on AV and was a huge reason our defense has freakin sucked the past 2 years. This guy will be a good example to the young players. AV sadly has sold a lot of our fans that you have to be a great skater to be a defenseman in this league and it's a crock. First and foremost you have to know where to stand, how to clear the crease and how to make high percentage plays.

I will let "talentless" pass but otherwise, maybe you should unhate it? I assume you consider Shattenkirk and ADA talented. But these guys are not good PKers. For the price of one Kamfer and a 4th round pick - what do you expect to receive?
Again, we're assuming that defensemen who skate and move the puck are bad PKers. There's absolutely a talent cap on penalty killing and it's a toxic mentality.

Maybe he does, but it's clearly not what the team values.

Why is leadership not a good quality? Why is aggresiveness not a good quality? Has hitting been removed from the game?

I get the move the sport has made to be more skill but every year we see guys play a physical style and make a positive impact on the games they play in. I’m not sure why being both good and play with a physical are mutually exclusive

Girardi and Staal stayed at home shitting on themselves the entire time AV was here, just about.

I love how we're still trying to make skill-first an AV thing. The guy worships bad players.

It's not necessarily mutually exclusive, but this FO has proven over and over again that they prefer an awful player who's tough when they must choose.

When I hear those things levied on a prospect, it's an immediate red flag.

This FO have shown us who they are...

10 years ago? Maybe.

Now? Open your eyes and pay attention to how involved winning teams blue lines are.

You obviously don’t like it but the game has shifted to puck possession and skill.

You want a dman that’s going to collapse and block a shot? Great. I’ll take the dman who’s in position to break up the play and make that key outlet pass.

And in AV’s defense, he wasn’t responsible for the roster that Sather and Gorton constructed. AV actually overused Girardi before he was bought out. That’s the kind of dman you seem to like.

It’s painful watching you struggle so bad, man.

Congrats. It was time for Boston...but almost nobody is “happy” to see McQuaid go.

A real warrior. Tough. Dependable. One of the best fighters I’ve ever seen in 30+ years of watching and playing the game. He almost never loses and can really crack skulls.

In terms of quality, the Bruins have found out over years that McQuaid is a great #5 defenseman. If you try to play him on the second pair, he sinks, but he is incredible at babysitting a young defenseman on the 3rd pair.

He protected/carried Kaberle, who was about as much of a pushover as a 12 year old kid defenseman, during the 2011 Cup run. Wouldn’t have won without him.

Nice pick up. Gonna miss him...but it’s hard to kick anyone’s butt from the press box. Haha. Oh well.

No, we are calling a guy who can't box out a crease, win a board battle or clear a puck while under duress a bad PKer.

Yeah, and things like net front awareness knowing where guys, sticks and passing lanes are and taking those away. There's a lot of finer details of PK I doubt he knows or cares about.

They didn't target Lindgren because they think he'll be a quality player (he may or may not be).

They targeted Linden because they actually think they needed to replace Dan Girardi for the next ten years.

That mentality is horrifying even if Lindgren turns out to be great.

Nobody wants to see this mentality. We still think Gorton values skill more than character, because he isn't Sather I guess.

We already tried winning with marginal talent and a bunch of blocked shots. We tried it for 8 years.

As much as I rag on Mgmt, I don’t mind this move at all.

They paid peanuts to improve the PK and somewhat stabilize the RD situation.

While McQuaid isn’t the be best player in the world, he’s a good team mate, he’ll protect the kids and add some physicality.

He’s also got some of the best body shots in the game and just might spell the end of McLeod.

Flip him off at the TDL for cashews.

Good trade..

Google it.

I'm tired of being everyone's stats butler.
It's not being a "stats butler" to provide one measly piece of evidence and then say "hey, this is a sample of research and there is more where that came from."

"Google it" is lazy and makes your side of the argument look weak and make it look like there is nothing to support it.

If it's so easy for someone else to "google it" and click on a link to find this info, then it shouldn't be difficult to take 5 more seconds of your posting time to copy and paste said link.

I'm just playing devil's advocate here. I agree with you. But don't just come in with some specific argument like that and not provide evidence to support yourself. Just makes you and your argument look bad.

Do you honestly think they didn’t target him because they think he’ll be a good player?
