I only want players that will sacrifice for the better of the team. Not a bunch of me me me me’s. I am exhausted with these type of players.
Some of you are too attached to players, coaches and GMs
This team once traded for and traded away Doug Gimour. We moved on from CUJO, we moved on from Wendel Clarke who was beloved by the leafs fans
Welcome to life. Players come and go.
That doesn't mean you trade him for nothing. Let's trade a core 4, let's get another one that fits the core 4 but brings something different
Teams still make good hockey trades. There are plenty of players in the market
Some of you are just soft.
CBA says you can't trade a player and re-acquire them for at least 1 calendar year (365 days).I notice Dahlin's a
Oh yeah that's right. More the bonus structure that would make a buyout pointless.
I wonder if we could trade him somewhere along with a sweetener and have them trade him back to us with retention. I don't know if that kind of circumvention has been discussed before.
Give him a legit play off type roster And then let's see how he does.Marner's problem in the playoffs seems to be mental more than anything. He doesn't handle pressure well. Game 3 against Florida was probably the single worst of his pro career - he looked completely overwhelmed.
Nylander may end up having to pay the price. But it'll be interesting to see how Matthews/Marner handle things moving forward. Not many excuses left, unless Tre tries to trade Rielly next

The NHL recently veto a deal between Carolina and Philly for Anthony DeAngelo.
NHL has vetoed a substantial trade between Carolina and Philadelphia
Over the weekend, it had appeared that the Carolina Hurricanes and Philadelphia Flyers had a trade in place to send Tony DeAngelo to Carolina for an unnamed prospect. However, reporters had identified that the deal had hit a "snag" without knowing what exactly it was.
This morning, it was reported that the hold up in processing the trade was that the NHL viewed the trade as a cap circumvention. In the CBA, it states that a team cannot re-acquire a player within 12 months of trading them away. The Canes traded DeAngelo to the Flyers in July last off-season and the Flyers then signed him to a two-year, $10M contract. The NHL is expected to meet with both sides in Nashville this week to discuss the situation.
The Flyers and Canes have both argued that it is not a cap circumvention as DeAngelo was an RFA at the time and it was former Flyers' GM Chuck Fletcher that signed him to his current contract, not Daniel Briere or the Canes. The NHL could force the Flyers and Canes to wait until July 9th to make the trade.
Hayes is an idiot if he believes that.I think Brian Hayes said it best on Overdrive a few days ago when he concluded that MLSE thinks the regular season wins and selling jerseys is more important than winning in the playoffs. Why else would they be so "meh" about every failure in the playoffs and not change a thing? If they run back everyone and still fail again ...he will have been correct in his assumption.
Give him a legit play off type roster And then let's see how he does.
There's the rub. A legit playoff roster doesn't have 3 $11 M players.
Hayes is an idiot if he believes that.
I like the way you thinkAt least he has a M-NTC and not a full NTC, if I'm the vengefully prick that I've been known to be, I'm gonna feed Groosman such a horrible tasting slice of humble pie, players are going to run from his representation. Tre give that greedy agent a punch in the mouth for all of us.
You me iam really getting sick and tired of all this money bullshit .I only want players that will sacrifice for the better of the team. Not a bunch of me me me me’s. I am exhausted with these type of players.
Cant afford oneGive him a legit play off type roster And then let's see how he does.
Ultimately, I don't think he's wrong.Hayes is an idiot if he believes that.

He's getting traded.
Them not doing what you want doesn’t validate some other guys dumb idea.Ultimately, I don't think he's wrong.
So far MLSE has bought everything Shanahan has been selling and Shanny was a key architect in assembling this core and campaigning for Tavares on the open market. The Leafs have done a marvelous job marketing this core as the elite core in the NHL and these players are fan favorites to an unhealthy extent.
Seven years of playoff failure, disappointments, and contract haggles, and these players are still beloved by the fans and continually spoiled by the organization. If playoff success truly meant more to MLSE than having a sexy core and moving merch, Shanny would have been jettisoned by now and at least one member of the core would have been moved in a massive shake-up trade to set an example. This team has won just one round in 7 years while paying 4 players elite money. Heads should be rolling by now.
Christ, Shanahan legit wanted Dubas back and Keefe is still behind the bench.
All of this supports Hayes theory.
