Oh Lord he’s going to put him back in tomorrow. What an idiot. In those 11 goals against I’ve seen many times where he isn’t where he’s supposed to be because he’s too slow. Indirectly his fault. Keefe is incompetent.

Keefe should be embarrassed and angry as all hell.

I don't care if Toronto got the win.

That was bag-skate worthy.

I wonder if Samsonov is thinking....

"I gotta play tomorrow against the team on a hot streak with this shit defense in front of me and that to on the 2nd day of a B2B game? F Me!"

Meh, we’ve given him easy af starts and he’s bottled them

We’ve given him hard starts and he’s shat the bed. At this point he just needs to come out and play like a starting goaltender like he was last year

Guys in here talking about Zadorov like he is the second coming of Chris Pronger. He would be absolute dog shit for us. We need an Alex Pietrangelo type defenseman. Zadorov lol.... screw that turn coat.

If people are expecting a Pietrangelo yeah, they'd confused.

If they're expecting a 3rd. pairing defender who won't wilt when things get physical we're good.

Positives:
1. Nylander in god mode this season. By far the best player on the leafs this season (in terms of night in and night out consistency)
2. It’s early but we might have found ourselves a decent 3rd line and Nick Robertson might have finally arrived
3. Leafs won

Negatives:
Everything else

He is not a point-producing D though... that is the issue... if he was, his defensive troubles might be overlooked a little.

They track changes on the fly too... he starts most of his shifts that way like every D... but Keefe tries to have him avoid the D zone more than any other D on the team.

And Keefe will continue to do that once both the #3/4 defencemen are back on the team but with the added bonus of no longer having to play Klingberg head-to-head against other top-six players.

Rather than freaking out about the player not being able to handle 2nd pairing assignments above his slot, why don't you take a breather and wait for the full group to come back before coming to hasty conclusions.

What you're proposing is to liquidate $4.5M in capspace from the team, replacing him with an AHL player after 13 games in the season.

Seems very reactionary, and emotional. I don't think you've quite come to terms with Kyle being gone and a new guy calling the shots. It's ok to still be hurt about it but you need to sort that out quick.

We are playing AHL players above him right now and they are doing better than him... what are you even talking about?

The Calgary Flames scored 4 goals against the Leafs tonight, without Klingberg there for you to scapegoat.

Great success right?

I am done going back and forth... if you can't tell that the defensive effort was better tonight, I don't know how you can be helped.

As impressive as Styles was tonight. AS good as Robertson looked on the third line. The most impressive thing tonight was the LEAFS actually taking a roughing penalty. The LEAFS roughing someone? This is rare.

Teams score a lot of goals when your goalie sucks.

The expected goals were 2.35 for the Flames
The Leafs expected goals were 4.31

Should have been a 4-2 Leafs win with average goaltending on both sides.
