AAV will get the attention because it's the figure that's just about certain to remain unchanged throughout the life of the contract.

If they wanna give him max money, fine but if they give it to Marner, it’ll be all the same problems again but worse and I’ll burn all my leafs jerseys

I would say old GM was out to lunch and we are righting this ship. Unfortunately our management wans to double down on stupidity and pretend its success. Reality sucks

Split the second line 20 games ago, please!

You may ask who i shall blame if they split Nylander and Tavares and Nylander still dont get going. Well not Tavares. It will not happen so i dont have to worry about that. If Bert is with Nylander i blame Bert. You can only have one snakebitten per line.

I've been saying for years that Nylander and Tavares produce despite playing together, rather than because.

Last 22 games: Willy has 25 points, JT has 11, and Bert has 9.

Even worse if you split them:

ES - Willy 6G 3A, Bert 1G 8A, JT 0G 3A
PP - Willy 2G 9A, JT 5G 1A, Bert doesn't.
SH - Willy 1G 1A, JT and Bert don't.

At ES I'd rather see Domi centering Bert and Willy, or Willy centering Jarnkrok and either Bert or Robertson.

Willie doesn’t appear to be ready to live up to this deal. So much assertiveness in play leading up to the contract being signed and ever since he’s just regressed to the patterns that made him less successful as a player who is just more passive.

The contract is necessary, love the player but it’s all just part of the frustration with this group. They always have to underachieve a little bit.

IMO he played as good as Matthews when he was going, "only" got $11.5M so he toned it down back to JT/Marner level.

As a Nylander fan it annoys me that he had an interview said the difference between this year when he was flying high vs last year was blah blah blah. Signs the contract and proceeds to go cold and disengaged like last year’s cold streaks. Like figure it out man.

Him at C between jarnkrok and robertson would be interesting. At least until Bert start to find net and get confidence again.

And i want them to get at least 15 games before breaking them up if needed.

He needs scorers on his line not playmakers Robertson or jarnkrok work for sure love Bert’s motor but he’s just as much of a “defensive liability” as Robertson without the speed and scoring touch we have enough people who are underachieving we couldn’t afford for the new acquisitions to do the same hence the reason for our record gotta figure at some point we correct some of those mistakes re coup assets we got too much holes

He is playing with two other players that under perform 5 times more. Why insist throwing out a line with the most snakebitten players in the same line? Noone on the line can put anyones pass in the net at 5v5.
Should he figure it out, yes, but when he never do why the f wont Keefe split them up? I get furious even before a game starts when i see Tavares and Nylander on the same line, even more when they throw voodo badluck charm Bert in the mix with them. Is Keefe aiming to loose games on purpose?

You’re not wrong that his linemates can be a problem. But it was the same deal for the most part before the contract was signed and they were flying as a unit earlier in the autumn!

When Tavares aint playing his best Nylander cant drag him and vice versa. There styles dont match to begin with. So any good result is a massive overachivment from both. But most Nylander. Marner Matthews 12 and 15 in points in the leuage. Nylander Tavares. 9 and 80. Who drags who?

The sad fact is that he’ll never live up to this contract, and he’ll be hated for it before it’s all over…….

Agreed. I think the difference from earlier in the year is just that JT is slowing down, and that is affecting the timing of the whole line.
