Lmao... Nashville has a history of waiving really good players for nothing.

He gets claimed and likely doesn't make it past San Jose. I could see the Flyers making good use of him and turning it around like Tolvanen and Peverley did.

I'm curious how claims get announced. If a team jumps on it immediately, is it only announced the day after, or more in "real time?"

I would think the announcements have to happen the day after because they need to know all the claims put in just in case a trade happens later. But I don’t know for sure.

But those players can't be traded when placed on waivers, right? Honestly no idea how this all works.

Guess not even 1 team wanted to give up a 7th for him.

I’m sure teams would have offered more but likely wanted retention or adding a dud throw in which the Preds didn’t want.

Got to think he gets claimed by either San Jose or Montreal. Can't believe that Nashville couldn't get at least a pick for him. This has a send a message to the team feel.

He’s probably and upgrade on the habs 5-7 dmen but those guys have much lower cap hits. Is Fabro would the extra cap hit for the amount of upgrade on one of those guys?

With how the defense looks it sure is worth it. Young defenceman have a hard time developing when they are getting caved in night after night like they are. I like players like Hutson, Struble and Guhle but they really need to have more of their minutes sheltered. As for cap space Montreal is in no real cap danger over the next couple of years so having a Fabbro suck up the damage for 2.5 million is better than possibly damaging a player like Guhle or Hutson.

if there were so many teams interested, NSH would have traded him.

Watch him get through the waivers
NSH probably wants the full cap relief which no GM was offering.
Would look pretty dumb for NSH GM if 10+ claims are made on this guy.

Hoping the Habs are able to pick him up. He could help solidify the pairings in Montreal, the Habs have more than enough cap space, and if it doesn’t work out - they could always retain for a contender at the deadline and garner a decent return.

I'm not so certain he'll get claimed. If he's as valued as some on here think, someone would have traded a late pick for him.
