Yes but it was worse tonight. Extremely soft coverage and play. While some games were efforts and losses this one was devoid of it. Not one player stepped up in absence of our guys besides Pasta. It’s really telling that the leadership group will be even worse without Marchand.

I have said this before but you never pay goalies a lot because 90% of the time if the team in front is not good neither is the goalie. There probably only a hand full of hall of fame goalies that could make a bad team win. Most of today goalies need a good team in front of them to shine.

Been a Bruins fan for many years, since the days of Bobby (and Dallas Smith!). Must say I don’t think I’ve ever felt so emotionally disengaged. I just don’t like the effort I’m seeing from this year’s team. It makes me lose interest, and that makes me mad. I want them to go 0-20 (or whatever the remaining # of games is) for the draft position, but don’t want to watch them play anymore (but still do!). Thankfully, my 2nd team, Winnipeg is playing really well. For the Bruins, I’m in the fire management and coaching staff (except Essensa) camp, but would also try to move a lot of the players. But not Zadorov, who I think will make a solid Bruin. Hoping for a better team effort next year.

Just get Carlo and Coyle off the team and get all those picks we've lost over the years back and we'll be fine next year. Kind of want Marchand to go and us not get locked into an extension.

I can't watch the games live right now. I want them to lose for the higher pick, but I can't actively root for them to lose... So I wait til it's over, check the score, then see how it all unfolded.

When it was clear that Sweeney wasn't going to get help for Pastrnak, this became my approach. He made his first trade of the year today. Too late.

Imagine he was able to obtain one of several players moved this year?

We are also seeing what life is like without the last Stanley cup winner and leader on the ice. They have no leadership at all and were playing rudderless and uninspired. They are in a dog fight for a playoff spot. I know we want them to lose for a draft spot, but the fact the players are laying down proves that they pack it in when the going gets tough. Not the type of players you want for a playoff team in the future

It is such a severe drop off that I don’t think you could trade him if you wanted to.

Sweeney will go off the board for Senyshyn cousin

Sweeney had six 1st round picks between 2015 and 2017. Picks that should at this point in time made them a perennial PO team thru 2030 with at least 1 Cup to show
with it (2019).

Instead, they have one player on the roster now of the 6 picks and will be hiring his
4th new coach since 2017...lol. How the **** this guy is allowed to stay in his job
is ridiculous.

If we happened to get into a wildcard position and then faced the Leafs in round one and they finally beat us, that would be even more painful. I am usually optimistic but I am resigned to the fact this isn't going to happen anyway. The team is so predictable, tie it up, give up a goal seconds later, pull the goalie, give up an empty net goal, blow leads, special teams are so bad, etc. We have been spoiled, so it is a tough pill to swallow.
