Post-Game Talk: Now what? Predators 6 Bruins 3

If we happened to get into a wildcard position and then faced the Leafs in round one and they finally beat us, that would be even more painful. I am usually optimistic but I am resigned to the fact this isn't going to happen anyway. The team is so predictable, tie it up, give up a goal seconds later, pull the goalie, give up an empty net goal, blow leads, special teams are so bad, etc. We have been spoiled, so it is a tough pill to swallow.
Barring injuries with Florida, Toronto aren't getting out of the division, so Leafs fans will be bitching & screaming by early May.

In a 32 team league with a salary cap where 16 teams make the playoffs, you’re going to have years where you DNQ.

I’ve accepted that.

I don’t believe they’re on the right track to address the issues which will keep them from qualifying this season.

Having said that, it’s ownership’s prerogative to attempt the most conservative approach to getting back before they employ more drastic measures like a front office change.

But to be clear, I want them to take the more radical path.

If last night wasn't clear that this team desperately needs to add more players who can create and finish offensive plays, I don't know what is. Nashville's top players buried their prime scoring chances, and they've also been a team that has had issues scoring, so how far behind are the Bruins?

Who in their right mind is renewing ST?
Fans in the 300s despise the cramped seating when the seats were replaced just before COVID

When I was a kid and dinosaurs roamed on Causeway Street, renewing a season ticket meant paying for FIVE games up front. The team would then mail you a punch card, and you went to the box office to pay for upcoming games, and were allowed to miss 5 games.

Today, I can say with certainty that no US-based team treats its season ticket holders worse than the Bruins.

Last night was tough - Bruins tie the game in the third and then fell apart.

The main reason any fan invests in season tickets is to be there for the playoffs. The reality is the next home playoff game could be in 2028 or later..................

Precisely why I am not opposed to dealing core pieces.

As fans we all see things differently and as fans, we know that there are teams that are weak and that we should be able to beat and when we don't (Like last night) we start ripping management and others. We do not do this because we hate our team because it is done as a defense of our team. I know that myself I have said things that I feel bad saying but, in the end, it is said because I do love my team. If I did not, why do I keep watching every game and the answer is that I still have some hope. I have also said that is it wise to continue making a push for the playoffs or just think of the future and my vote is for the future of the Bruins. I will continue watching the remaining games, but I must keep the thought alive in my head that we probably will miss the playoffs. If I was to keep thinking that we will make the playoffs it brings back the defense in me instead of defending a loss I will not need to because I am watching not for that game on that night but for the future of my team The Boston Bruins!!!

That Stamkos goal Ken Dryden would not have stopped.Barry Pederson said only reason they even had chance in the 3rd was because of Swayman. Its a bad bad hockey team.Bruins had 15 shots for crying out loud.
I would pull a goalie after 5, especially if the team is laying an egg in front of him.

Worse than being a bad hockey team, they are incredibly poorly led. Shades of Dave Lewis, without the too many men on the ice penalties. You can be less skilled and still outwork your opponent - or at least try to do so. None of that on display last night.

The stay in the dressing room comment was a post about the upcoming game with Ottawa.

I have said this before but you never pay goalies a lot because 90% of the time if the team in front is not good neither is the goalie. There probably only a hand full of hall of fame goalies that could make a bad team win. Most of today goalies need a good team in front of them to shine.
Yeah a lot of blaming sway but look at the shots the other teams are getting.
Wide open one timers and a few feet in front of net with no coverage

Last year Swaymans lateral movement
Super fast!!! Agile!!! Quick!!!

This year!
Slow! Lethargic! Abysmal!

Roughly 3 goals a game.

This is part of fandom. I remember the Roy-Stumpel-Wilson line. I remember the rebuild with the Caps kids and Jumbo Joe, they was a fun time even though it never paid off. Zach Hamill. 2015 draft. There are reload times and they are in one. They are better off then they were in 96-97. The draft picks will be exciting for draft talk start of June.

I'll just say it again, you HAVE to win when you are there or elite. 2019 and 2023 are just going to haunt us for a long time with the what could have been. 2020 was another one, but through no fault of anyone's they came up short, understandably.

I'd be totally shocked if that were to be the case. This season has been just a $hit show from the start...... Starting with having way to many 3rd -4th liners that Pasta and Marchand have been anchored with, injuries on the back-end, a subpar Swayman you get a DNQ.

Im pretty confident with the right moves in FA and some shrewd trades they'll be back as soon as next year competing in the playoffs. Although I would like to see a change at the position which is most responsible for this $hit show taking place, as I don't have much faith in Sweeney, but I think it'll take another DNQ.

They need another goalie in order to get back to the playoffs next year. Swayman/ Korpisalo isn’t good enough . I guess Swayman isn’t going anywhere but they need someone who can rotate with him .

I haven't read through all of the crap in the GDT or this one, but did they show the fan in the third period who came down to the glass right near Sway (who was at the bench for a commercial break) ...really pounded on the glass hard and was swearing at Sway? The fan was out of line and got tossed.

It was right in front of us and the fan was very threatening and out of control. All of the Bs were glaring at him. Sway laughed it off but not sure how he really felt.

The Oilers getting shelled by Ducks 5-1 about to lose 6 of last 7 but playoffs they will play Kings whom they match up well against. Its all about matchups to me.Leafs fans be happy no Bruins for same reason but best hope no habs either.
Now that Boston made a deal with the Oilers I doubt they can squeeze another one for Carlo.

Since the break the Oilers goaltending is suspect but their defence has been atrocious complete crap
Flame already inquired about Carlo.
Not sure if Carlo has "a list"

I think the world of Korpisalo. He was and still should be a teams #1. Heck...he's proven he's our #1. He's pumped up his trade value in my eyes, let's see what we can get for him and go with Bussi to back up Mr. Businessman.

It'd be tough to get rid of our highly acclaimed #1, Mr Businessman. Breaking pencils. Spilling coffee on his suit. Hanging out by the Watercooler. Getting his tie caught in his desk drawer.
Not a good look. 🫤

Damn that's completely uncalled for. Were you able to hear what he was saying?
