SoA is OK... but really, just badass cliches and smoking in slow motion. Meh.

Been watching the wire lately, bout half way through season 3... Not bad but I feel like if it was hard to find the next season I would just kinda shrug and move on. I basically stopped mid episode to watch the season of Azis' show "Master of None"

What are some of your favorite shows?

Just watch old episodes of King Of The Hill.
Your welcome.

I love that show. The more you watch that show the funnier it gets.

Speaking of awesome shows.

SOA is not as good of a story as Breaking Bad or TWD, but it is a pretty good story. There are some great characters. It is graphic in a lot of ways, but mostly for shock value.

Gotham is a great show. Season 1 is on Netflix and it's like 22 episodes.

If you never saw Prison Break, season 1 is beyond incredible, it drops off in Season 2 but is watchable. You should stop here.

It is a show that was a victim of it's own success. You can only escape from prison so many times and the conspiracy can only get more unbelievable.

Season 3 is pretty bad, but if you are professionally killing time Don't watch it if you did season 2.
Don't watch after that.

Gotham suffers from Smallville disease. They are trying to cram as much Batman history in the show without actually having Batman involved. It is a train wreck of epic proportions but so is the latest revamp of the DC comics with the new 52. Arrow and Flash seem to be hero and world building in a much better pace.

I would recommend Arrow over Gotham for killing time. Battlestar Galactica is fantastic until the end where Ron Moore just went off the rails. I don't know if that is on Netflix.

Prison Break is a 24 type show with one preposterous setup after another. I watched it but it was mindless entertainment for sure. Same with SOA which was enthralling but also ridiculous.

What are some of your favorite shows?

I watch a lot more comedies then serious shows... As long as the comedian/writers are funny its good, I have no expectations of story or development...

in no particularly order,

Big fan of Its always sunny, Curb your enthusiasm, Breaking Bad, Trailer Park Boys, Loui.

All of the Office was decent, later seasons fell off a bit.
Parks and Rec was quality
As I said King of the Hill
Always liked some Southpark, but been a long time since I worried about watching it...
Need to find second season of Silicon Valley, first was pretty good.
The League is pretty good.
Archer is quality
Weeds was OK
Orange is the New Black is OK.

Speaking of Bob Odenkirk, the IFC skit show he produced "The Birthday Boys" was pretty funny, particularly the first season. I don't think he had much to do with it other then being in it every now and then, and putting his name behind it... But they had some pretty good skits.

(I feel like I am supposed to name off some quality serious shows... but honestly so few and far between... and I maybe forget stuff)

Anyone here old enough to have checked out Lion Country Safari? That's insane that they allowed that to exist. I think there was a similar park up in El Monte too.

I never went (my family considered it too dangerous), but I remember it, of course. Here is a long article about it: the interesting thing is that there is also one in Florida that still is going strong, and that the point you made would imply that they closed it down due to danger and/or mistreatment of the animals.

As always, the driving force for its end was money. Of course.

yeah, i've actually seen that. An old co-worker of mine told me about it as I used to work in an office building right across the freeway from the Irvine Amphitheater. I did some googling on it and eventually saw a PBS (maybe huell howswer?) show about it and the one in El Monte.

Here is the wiki for the one in El Monte (guess that predates most of us - probably you too, Ron):

Me.

Goddam Irvine company

That's cool!

And yeah, I'm pretty sure the board of the Irvine Company meet in some version of the death star.

Hardly a bad choice but I think he may have trouble portraying that character as being as tough as he is, though I didn't read the comic and have been avoiding spoilers like mad for the most part so maybe I have a different impression of what Negan is supposed to be.

I think a Dolph Lundgren would have been ideal, but he's likely a bit to big of a name for the show to get.

They dialed the governor back quite a bit. I have a feeling the same is going to happen here

JDM will be fine. Dude was badass in Watchmen.

He's a fine actor but I was hardly wowed by his 'badass' talents in the Watchmen. Good movie though.

I hope he'll be able to do well and I hope they don't dial it back to much. I want to see someone truly ruthless in this series.

Considering what happened to Michonne by the Governor in the comic book was never done on the show, I have to believe the show runner will scale back Negan somewhat.
