People see this and say "hockey isn't played on #spredsheetz, I saw him do a specific thing on one play today that I didn't like" and then proceed to react to it for the rest of the season to the point where they keep seeing it because they want to.

I’ve kind of given up on Miller, but if he’s going to be here, just play them together 23 minutes a night, this shouldn’t be a hard decision.

I think, however, no matter what combos you have, it's not really going to matter when you have a shit defensive system, coupled with forwards who refuse to backcheck and tie up the point-men and the trailers.

Also, watching lindgren trying to cover someone all over the ice man to man is absolutely INSANE
No coach should be asking him or any of our other slow footed dmen to do so

Berard and Vaakanainen in when they get healthy will help. Lindgren should be scratched or traded by then and Vesey is absolutely cooked. He had multiple chances tonight I feel like Berard wouldve Berard, after seeing his 1 career goal.

Subtle changes that hopefully unlock something for the greater lineup. Think Hagelin/John Mitchell call-ups in 2011-12 season.

Everything is a bit subjective, but laziness is subjective to the point of losing all meaning. It becomes "anything I don't like."

Laziness, to me, is Zibanejad never playing though the puck. If contact is coming, he reaches for it every single time. Lafreniere used to do that and got better when he stopped doing it. I think Panarin is sometimes guilty of it with his pull-up play but not always.

Laziness is not Kreider doing something stupid with the puck. He just doesn't handle the puck well. Laziness is not the team blowing coverage over and over again. They just suck at it.

When Fox gets accused of being lazy, it's either a deficiency he just has (size, skating) or just a play he couldn't have done anything about.

Today's play with Bjorkstand was the perfect example. "Oh, not tying up his stick because he's lazy." He did tie up his stick. Bjorkstand set a target and Fox came in below to prevent him moving his stick down. You either tie up low or high; you can't twist your stick like a ribbon to take up both directions. The shot came high and hit a very small window between Fox's stick and legal height. Sometimes goals against just happen.

The laziness argument also exists in such a self-flatilatory bubble. Kreider has like 108 goals on tips. The conclusion is that he's pretty good at them. Not once have I heard a Rangers fan say "somebody should have tied him up." When we score, it's skill. When they score, we were too lazy. And believe me, if they could stop him, they would. Good players score.

So basically dismiss it because it doesn't fit the viewpoint. You know what wasn't lazy? When torts was here bc he wouldn't put up with it (this isn't a pro torts post so let's not start that). I didn't need a metric to show it, anyone could see the work ethic. This team is lazy and if you can't see it then all the bluster has been for nothing. There is a noticeable difference in caliber of play when they are not lazy.

Miller was on for all 5 goals against 2 weeks ago. Only goal he wasn't on for was the EN goal against.

That was an interesting thing. Almost all of those goals were 2-on-1s where Miller was the last guy back.

Cuylle is such a gamer. The way he was mixing it up at the end of the 2nd period was amazing to see. Trying to get the team going.

I'm not sure why the Fil/Cuylle line had some of the least minutes in this game.

Seemed to me at toward the end of the second they missed a shift or something ... when Seattle scored some goals. It was odd. They are a good line to play when we're ahead.

why? 1.3 years is longer than most coaches make it these days. And hes been ABYSMAL this year (and his 2 little minions too)

You can't keep turning over the coach. The players will never be able to be held accountable.
