to be honest, I am less worried about Gallagher as I am Josh Anderson. Although he hasn't been the gamebreaker their fans think he is, he has been good against the Leafs. It's almost as if his deceptive speed catches our D off guard. He has scored some softies against our goalies this year but always off of a good drive to the net. Almost every game against us he has noticeably been able to drive wide and beat our defensive group with ease. He can be a real difference maker for them if he can learn to finish. For as many soft finishes he was able to score, he missed the net or couldn't bury on at least double.

That guy's shot is the wrist shot version of Dion Phaneuf's. Imo their biggest sleeper is Nick Suzuki, who's been pretty lousy down the stretch but is otherwise really their only something from nothing guy.

Corey Perry is built for the playoffs, watch him turn on another gear.

I'm wondering if Jumbo and Simmonds have a playoff gear.

Most good players do. You take no player for granted, but I can see him being exposed due to his lack of speed.

I have to believe Simmonds and Thornton will be leaving it all on the ice. They aren't getting any younger and this is a unique opportunity with a talented team to make history.

Perry concerns me because he is known for crashing the crease with the intent of injuring the goalie. How soon does he bring his sideshow Bob routine to game one? I'm concerned if he injures Campbell, then what? Andersen? Andersen who is an unknown, did he suck because he was hurt or did he suck because he just sucked?

Nice to see the series officially set.

It'll be a whole bunch of feels watching this matchup.

Hope it lives upto the billing, and obviously Leafs in 6 or less :)

If he does that he must pay a price in the form of his own health. He must also be suspended.

I've witnessed the Habs play a ChickenSh** game this year at times. They have been on the receiving end a couple of times but they are usually the instigator.

The Leafs and the league must decide what type of activities they will allow. If the league wants to revert back to the garbage they used to allow, Leafs will just stack up on such players as.they did in the early 2000s.

I don't want to see that type of league again.

Going to get hate for it but this will not be easy, IMO. I could see an upset, Anderson and Caufield worry me.

But regardless, f*** the Habs
Hit Caufiled hard every time you get a chance, he will wilt, he likes to play the free wheeling game, not so good in tougher style games.

Lol not sure if anyone read Arpon Basu's article in the Athletic (How the Canadiens can beat the Maple Leafs: goaltending, depth and pushing the limits of physical play), but the jist of it is 'cross-check the hell out of 34/16/91/88' to win.

I watched a few "cross-body checks" last game against them. Really greasy, cowardly and dangerous. I hope the Leafs send the league last games clips.

Hard checking hockey is fine, cowardly hits with your stick as you check someone need to be out of the game along with any flaky player who employs it.

No, f*** that. The excuse was when we played Boston 2 years in a row is that we would win a round if we played someone mediocre in the first round instead of an elite team. People say that the Leafs would have won a playoff series by now if they didn't have to play Boston. They can not lose to Montreal this year, it's that simple.

100% agree brother. I just refuse to allow my expectations to be too high from the mountains of precedence we have

We sweep that garbage Habs team. Their record is abysmal and any other year they would be picking top 10 not in the post season. We go out and prove we belong to be contenders. F*** the Habs and Go Leafs Go

Honestly we should be humble and modest and see what happens. No guarantees.

I feel you, though. I was 13 last time we won a series.

Exactly. This is the Leafs we’re talking about here.

If I had a gun to my head and was forced to make a prediction in this series, I would obviously pick the Leafs, but, until they actually win a playoff series, I am not getting my hopes up. Whether it’s the Habs, or, my Wednesday night beer league team that they’re playing in a playoff round.

This team has let me down way, way, WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too many times over the years for me to get my hopes up. And I am not until they prove it to me.

Well if they consider last year's qualifying round as playoffs, they would be wrong.

I am willing to give the Leafs a pass on that, kinda. You're coming in to a playoff situation after 4+ months off, things can get a little quirky. Like I said earlier, though, I hope they learned something from that series still.

I am predicting the Leafs in 5 games, largely because they have the firepower and they didn't lose 4 games to the Canadiens in 9 tries, so it seems unlikely they will lose 4 in 7 tries.

Also, if they don't win this series, I cannot begin to guess how anyone can make the team better, unless there is a reason just so flagrantly obvious (like goaltending played so far beneath their abilities, for instance). If this team cannot get out of this division, built as they are, and after all they have accomplished this year....what else is there?

So, don't do that to us, Leafs! Go Leafs Go!
