I could not believe how many Colts “fans” left after the third period and even more after the first OT.
What a nice rink that’s full of quiet people. The only time it’s loud is when the big screen tells them to.

Not sure I'd question a teams fanbase when the Battalion averaged less than 2600 on a first place in the division team, good enough for 19th in the league.

Even though a work/school night, I don’t understand leaving that game early.
I have to say Zito is a beast. Love watching this kid play.
The Battalion showed up. Petrov was the games best player. That also probably the best game of Arnsby’s OHL career so far. Petrov, Zito, Arnsby, Jackson, Ertel all getting extra TOI with Wakely-Romani was excellent player utilization by the coaching staff imo.

Random note, at one point in the 3rd during a PP Petrov was back in his wheelhouse taking one timers instead of playing D. Maybe if was just because of players rotating or Oulahen remembered how lethal he was in that spot last year

Speaking of attendance, ticket sales for Sat. are about 3700, giving us a chance at a season high and making 11 consecutive of 3000+. In about 18 other markets this statement would provide a few giggles, I’m sure, but make no mistake, here it is significant. I heard an ad on the local rock station today, and sometimes the team just makes you shake your head. Understanding a large portion of sales takes place online, there is still a part of the population who wants to make an appearance at the box office and purchase a ticket. So, how does the team help out these folks? How about opening the ticket window at 9 or 10 on a Sat. game day or maybe noon at the latest. No, let’s make it 3:00pm and really go all out.

I think the Troops caught a break with Jelsma and Vierling out of the Colts’ lineup last game, not sure of their situation. I wonder if the Troops will continue with the 11/7 alignment for all future games. This will at least give Romani and Wakely an experienced linemate rather than the rookie E-Pro21.

Saw Jelsma walking around the rink last night with his arm in a sling. Vierling was also mingling with fans and didn’t seem any worse for wear. With that said I wouldn’t be surprised if he were back in the lineup tomorrow. Never know with the concussions though and that kid needs to be cautious as another hit like that could end up in the same boat as Zach Bratina was a number of years ago.
Over the years the most entertaining playoff series have been against Barrie and this one is no exception.

Can I question a teams fan base who make statements like the following?
“Go get your bow and arrow Wakely you idiot” after the play where Wakely was clearly shoved in to Thornton. Sorry but that’s not a fan base I’d want anything to do with. My wife looked at him and said “really?” which of course prompted him to tell her to go fly a kite, just using a different phrase in which the first word starts with a F.
As for attendance numbers perhaps the 110,000+ population difference makes your 1000 more fans a game seem a little tainted, no?
2% of your communities population attends games while 5% of North Bays does but you make the numbers work however you need to.
Enjoy game 5.

Just finished watching the game. I thought Mathurin played a solid game. I would say Nelson was hit about 20+ times----Clarke maybe 4 times!!!. That needs to change. Game could have gone either way. Is Thornton playing over his head. Didn't have these numbers during the regular season. Still wanting more from Jackson.

Winning on the road in double OT after being down 3-1 in the third shows patience, determination
and skill. All the armchair coaches out here want to see if they can maintain that effort.

If I am reading the ticket sales properly, it looks like there are about 40 standing slots available, and that’s it. I think we can legitimately call this a sellout which I’m guessing might be the first in 7-8 years or so. Apparently the team didn’t need to open the ticket windows earlier than 3:00pm after all, my bad.

Is anyone prepared to weigh in on the draft selections? Or maybe we should just focus on the business at hand. What’s the game plan – 11/7 with Tnias still in or 12/6 with E-Pro21 back in and a defender sitting?

Question asked and answered: according to game sheet D-man Tnias stays in and rookie forward E-Pro21 stays out for 11/7 configuration.

Oh don't say that around his mom!! She'll let you know how good he is. Should have heard her in the Hamilton series.

Settle down mom! You're embarrassing the kid
Mom was in fine form last night. What a mouth on that person, either a little too far with the loudmouth soup or just a nasty, nasty human or both.

Well her son has to get it from someone.
Honestly, he’s such a good player but the way he acts just makes people hate him. Did he really need to do go to the fans and pretend that he was giving them his stick. Kid is a clown and belongs in a circus.

If we’re discussing Clarke, I’d say he was hated upon for being so good long before he returned the ‘clown act’ to the fans.

Man-child. A fan was giving him the "baby tears eyes wiping motion" with a few minutes left in the game. He faked trying to get over the glass at him, started yelling and banging the glass. Coach sent him to the other end of the bench....PRIMA DONNA. Will fit in just great with Doughty in L.A.

I’m not sure how long he will last.
Keeps that up at the next level and someone will Rock him.

I found the 2 3-goal outbursts to be quite amazing. The first, in the 2nd period, was 3 in 1:26 and put the Troops in front. The 2nd, in the 3rd period, was 3 in 1:48 and put the game away. If not for the minor technicality of there being a period plus between the 2 flurries, you have 6 goals in 3:14, not bad.

Speaking of attendance (my obsession, I know) I expected the number last night to be very decent after the OT win in Barrie, but must admit 4203 caught me a bit by surprise by 400/500. So of course I had to go looking for past performances. In the magical spring of 2014, the first 3 games were mid-high 3s, then 8 in a row 4000+, 4151 to 4249 (round 1, game 7 vs. NIA). Spring of ’15 first 3 were in mid 3s, next 4 4104-4221. Home openers ’13 4236, ’14 4086. 2nd Erie/Connor McDavid visit Mar. ’15 4241. There might be others over 4, but I’m guessing last night was the first from May 3, 2015 to Apr. 22, 2023.
