Did you watch the game?

Before you go too off topic. I know one thing, you didn't. Are you still clinging to the notion that the Leafs dominated the Preds tonight?

Are you now going to claim also Rielly was better than any of Josi, Ellis, Ekholm, or Subban tonight? If so you should be asking your question of watching the game to yourself not me.

You still didnt answer the question.

So Rielly is "sheltered" because he plays 1:47 less per game than Burns?

And now you're cherry picking. Yeah Burns has played 30+ minutes more on the PK. Kinda helps that SJ averages 2:00 penalty minutes more, per game than the Leafs (who are lowest in the league). But yes, Burns kills more penalties. But they're pretty close in TOI per game

EV TOI
Burns 19:17
Rielly 18:34

SH TOI
Burns 1:53
Rielly 1:14

PP TOI
Burns 3:03
Rielly 2:38

TOI/Shift
Burns 0:56
Rielly 0:47

Shifts/GP

Burns 25.9
Rielly 28.4

Again, that leads to Burns playing 1:47 per game more than Rielly and that makes one a contender and the other not?

Just a suggestion but your time is better served not discoursing with the drama queen.

You still didnt answer the question.

You need me to say I watched the game? Yes I did. Did you? Not sure why you are trying to derail this thread.

Maybe you don't like posters bringing up Josi, Ekholm, Ellis, or Subban. But this is a Norris discussion thread. They were the 4 best D men on the ice. Dominated play of both sides of the puck. If a Norris was awarded for this game, it would be hard to pick one of them.

You didn't watch the game, admit it, you're full of it.

This is a Norris and or Rielly thread. Not if I watched the game thread. If you are not going to take a word of a poster, then don't waste people's time by asking. I gave you an answer, even allowing your off topic posting. You sound upset, go to bed, wake up and feel better. Rielly was not the best D man on the ice last night, Any of the Preds top 4 D men were. I posted in a game of one Norris candidate, it is unfair to the Preds D men they are not considered Norris candidates since this is a game where you saw Norris winning attributes from any of Ekholm, Subban, Josi or Ellis. Sleep on that. Or maybe I should just start reporting your posts instead of accommodating this line of off topic posting.

I'm glad you allowed me to go off-topic oh wise one. You didnt watch the game. That's why you deflected over and over and posted numbers without any input on what you actually saw. Because you never watched the game. You know what's off-topic? Bringing up the Preds top 4, after not watching the game, and propping them up. Maybe one night you'll go to bed, wake up, and find something better to do than follow the Leafs around like a bad smell. Sleep on that.

Leafs had 2 shots the 1st 10 minutes they did rally a bit after that but not "the better team". They were totally shut down in the 3rd

True, but after 2 the Leafs were largely ahead in scoring chances and high danger chances. They had a lot of extended shifts in the Preds zone but didn't manage to get too many shots through on net. Some shots wide, a couple of posts and a called back goal and to Nashville's credit they got in the way of a lot of them as well. In the third yeah the Preds were much better.

This is a Rielly thread though and Rielly did not play well.

You and I obviously watched the same game, can't say the same for others. I commend you for atleast calling this part as it is.

And I agree, this is a Norris and or Rielly thread.

Gio with another assist tonight to bump his pts up to 40. His +/- increases to a league leading 30

If he doesn't slow down, he'll be the only one to take it from Karlsson's march up the mountain again.

Karlsson is gonna go at least, or close to, PPG the rest of the way, that's over 75 points while playing great defensive so far this season. Gio gonna need to get 30 more points the rest of the way to secure it.

Karlsson with 2 more pts thus far tonight. That's 18 in his last 10 and 2/3rds games. Don't count him out just yet. And he has averaged 29-30 mins in his last several games.

Current 2018-19 NHL Norris Trophy Power Rankings by someone who isn't a complete shameless homer

1. EK65
2. Burns
3. I dunno, PK Subban or something
4. Brendan Dillon
5. Chris Letang
6. Shea Weber
7. Nick Lindstrom
8. Morgan Giordano

Gotta wonder if Karlsson and Burns will split votes from each other and result in a Giordano win (which he could do without the vote splitting, not trying to take away from his season so far).

I don't know why this isn't brought up more, but Rielly has a oiSH% of 15, he's never had a season above 10. Having 15% is unsustainable for a forward and even more so for a defenseman.

Rielly's having a great season, but by the end of it I doubt he's even considered for the Norris.
