Yep. I think this team has developed into a very good regular season team. Based mainly on the commitment to defense, the goaltending, and the ability to counter and score. I want to see them improve their overall offense of course. But nothing will make us a better playoff team than playing playoff hockey. The play-in experience a couple years ago is good. Probably will take a couple more early exits to get to that next level. But they’re certainly on the right track. Our top 4 D has to be one of the best in the league at this point and the our 3rd pairing is getting better. I know we don't have best depth at forward but our high level talent at our depth at D and arguably the best goalie in the league, with a backup that's playing like a top backup we'll win a lot of games.

I can’t really think of a trade package that would work, to be honest. Goalies are so hard to value. What are the Oilers most valuable assets after McD and Draisaitl? You wouldn't, just curious what the cost of a goalie of Shesterkin's caliber would be in a trade from the Rangers perspective.
He certainly hasn’t shown that level of consistently but he has a good ceiling. And when he gets all the ice he gets into a groove. I don’t think we’ll get full value for him because he just hasn’t had the chance to show what he can do. And when he does play occasionally he’s inconsistent. What do you guys think of Georgeiv? Does he have the potential to help a team win the Stanley Cup as a Starter?
Been a while though. You’d think they’d find a good goalie but they just can’t. I’d love to do a deal sending them Georgiev and Hajek for a solid young forward and a pick/prospect.We need a 2C, but wouldn't have any interest in RNH. Nothing else on your roster besides 29 & 97 would intrigue us. Decent Goalies show up on the scene all the time, so I'm sure you guys will find one without having to give up big assets.
This is why we would have to be buyers again like the 93-94 team,Yep. I think this team has developed into a very good regular season team. Realistically, I think we get smoked by Washington or Carolina, BUT it's super fun to watch these guys come together. Other than Chytil (whose name I can finally spell)... I don't get how someone with his skill set is just so bad.

Talent wise, for sure. Which is exciting. This team, as it played today, which is a big caveat, is better for sure. But the beauty of those early 10s teams is that they were so consistent and persistent. My standard for overachieving team is 11-12, do you think this team is better?

Kind of an awful trade for Montreal though. In hindsight, sure. But it’s a lesson learned.I don't know, I was hoping you guys had an idea.
Example: Vezina Winning Goaltender Patrick Roy trade to the Avalanche in 1995
Patrick Roy, Captain Mike Keane, in exchange for Andrei Kovalenko, Martin Rucinsky, and Jocelyn Thibault.
Anyone think Hajek looks better than last year? He looks decent imo. I think he’s a solid 6/7 defenseman

Idk, I think there is something to possibly pushing in some chips for this season. We have a ton of cap space so we could be huge in the rental market. Make a few good rental adds and you can address some of the deficiencies. With our top end talent, goalie and cap space there is definitely a good argument to be made to make a serious attempt at a run this season. One more reason to not go all in.
I’m just talking broadly, the Torts years. Those teams were better than the sum of their parts. This team isn’t there yet, but the parts are better. So the upside is exciting.Which early 10s teams? The 10-11 team was one and out, the 09-10 team didn't make the playoffs. The 2013 team was very different from 11-12 by the end of the season. I think it was really just that 11-12 team.
