Why? I don't really fault Davis for moving the Raiders. He doesn't have the money to build a stadium, Oakland doesn't have the money to build one for him. The only semi-realistic proposal that came about would have resulted in him selling off a chunk of his team, which I don't blame him for not wanting to do since it's all that he has.

Move to Vegas, where they are still close enough to their fan bases in the Bay and in LA for them to go there, get handed the keys to a brand new stadium and multiply the worth of your team. Playing at the Coliseum just isn't a viable option for them anymore, especially since the city jacked up the rent on him.

That poor NFL owner. Couldn't get any money from Oakland for a stadium. Maybe that's because he put zero effort into negotiations? Maybe it's because they are still paying off the $300 mil they invested in Mt. Davis? Maybe, just maybe, he didn't want to stay?

If he really wanted to stay in Oakland they could have made it happen. There is plenty of money in the Bay Area, and the 49ers just deserted the East/North Bay leaving them ripe for the taking. He didn't want to stay in Oakland because he doesn't have any money, and thus no bargaining chips to get what he wants. This was the only deal where he gets what he wants. Unfortunately it comes at the sacrifice of one of the best fan bases in the world.

Don't make excuses for rich NFL owners who consistently show they give zero poops about anyone other than themselves.

This is crazy, you can't even watch the A's on TV in local markets tonight, you have to watch a stream.

I was watching the game last night since it was the only game on, and I heard that. In 2017, that's inexcusable. It should be on television with the option to stream if you aren't near a tv. It's the second game of the year, and it isn't on tv? That's terrible.

It's even worse that one of those slots (Kings) don't even air in the Bay Area. They could move the Sharks to the California channel and put the A's on the California+ channel in the Bay Area and Kings on the California+ channel in the valley.

The Kings getting the primary California slot is the unbelievable part of this. They're a crappy team out of the playoff picture that doesn't air in a huge portion of the market.

I'm not making excuses for him as much as i'm saying I don't blame him. He's being handed the keys to a brand new stadium without having to sell off any portions of his team to build a stadium. The new stadium will almost definitely increase the value of the franchise and make him a ton of money. In doing so, he's moving to a place that isn't unbelievably far away from his already established fan bases both in the Bay and in LA where they could still conceivably make a trip to a game.

The only reason for him to stay would be out of some sense of loyalty to fans, which we know owners have none of, and if it would have been profitable for him to do so.

I get what you are saying. For him it was absolutely the best deal. I can't argue that.

What I don't get is why people are so selfish when it comes to money, and completely ignore the intrinsic value that exists in these types of decisions.

He had a chance to be a hero to the city of Oakland, and still make insane amounts of money. Instead he chose to further cement his legacy as an incompetent, silver spoon fed baby who didn't get his way and took his ball somewhere else because he didn't like how they were playing over here.

I hope everything comes crashing down on him in that subpar Vegas market, because he is the type of human being that truly doesn't deserve what he has.

Davis is now placing blame on the A's saying he wanted to sell them a minority stake in the Raiders so they could build two stadiums at the current coliseum location.

Quit blaming others because you don't have enough cash to finance a stadium yourself, Mark. It isn't up to the A's owners or the city of Oakland to build it for you.

If I was the A's I'dve told him to **** off too, after all they're the ones that came in and ruined a perfectly good stadium in 1995.

The A's could barely afford to field a competitive team, did he honestly think they could help fund two goddamn stadiums?

The A's owner is worth $2+ billion. He can afford his own stadium

Yeah, the A's have one of the richer ownership groups in the game.

That still doesn't mean they should have to help Davis out.

Would love to see the "deal" Davis was offering. My money is on it being very one sided.

Right now the A's need their own stadium. No need to help the poorest NFL owner get rich off their capital.

Davis should just shut his mouth, but he clearly doesn't know when enough is enough.
