The roster simply does not have the talent or skill. And wherever there may be some, those players are injury prone. This team and roster is going no where really fast.

It will depend on who the GM is I think.

If it's Baalke expect the status quo which means Kaep comes back and the Niners draft a QB in the 7th round only to be cut.

If it's a new GM, I could see him being willing to cut Kaep regardless of cap penalty given that the team is nowhere close to the limit. Ideally we could draft a QB in the first 2 rounds, or even trade for one. I wouldn't mind trading some assets to give a guy like Garropollo a chance.

It wouldn't accomplish anything to cut Kaepernick if he decides to use his option. They will need a QB no matter what they do so why waste the money cutting him when it's only through next season? If it still had four years or whatever, I could understand that but not with the way his contract is restructured.

49ers finished dead last in ESPN's rankings of the 122 professional sports franchises in the 4 major North American leagues. Tampa Bay Lightning finished first.

A very well deserved last place for this pathetic excuse of an organization.

Lol. They made the sb less than 4 years ago. I can't remember the last time the Sac Kings played a meaningful game.

ownership is likely the cause, but the Browns are much more putrid on the field. Add in that they're stuck in worse than mediocrity and I don't see it. The Yorks will be gone eventually and the Niners will be good.

At least with the Niners you know you have some exciting games and the draft to look forward to. They were in the super bowl like 4 years ago, their terribleness is overblown.

With the Browns, its losing season after losing seasons and then every first round pick they take is traded or busts within the next two years. And then next year its the same thing.

The full rankings come out tomorrow for those wondering where the Sharks are.

Got tickets to my very first NBA game, Kings hosting the Timberwolves next Saturday

I'm super stoked to get to see Cousins and Towns bang it out live and in person

I know logically Kershaw is the best pitcher in the world, blah blah blah, but the "Kershaw can't pitch in the playoffs" narrative is too delicious not to parrot.

Great job Niners! Not sure how you let Jazcquizz Rodgers and Peyton Barber gash you, but you found a way!

Edit: just heard them say the Bucs have over 240 rush yards!?!?! Wow this team is gross.

The lack of talent on the Niners roster is just mind boggling. Adding injuries on top of that lack of talent is just pouring gas on the dumpster fire
