Non-Sharks Bay Area Sports Thread XXVIII

I don't follow the NBA anymore, but wasn't there a time the Lakers were trying to get Chris Paul and the NBA stepped in and voided the trade? When could the league step in and say this is a bad trade or did something like that get changed. It seemed like this is something the NBA should have reviewed throughly first before it became official.
The only reason that happened was because Paul was on the New Orleans Hornets which was owned by the league at the time and the rest of the league called foul when New Orleans ended up with a grab bag of lesser players while the Lakers got the best player in the deal

Feel like this Butler trade is a lateral move. They really needed KD to be legit contenders .
The one thing you can say about Butler is that when he's happy with his contract situation, he always gives 100%, which is something that could never be said about Wiggins. I don't think this team is relevant in a Western Conference that includes a healthy OKC, but they probably can get out of the playin game with decent health. Trouble is, you can never count on good health when your team's best players are all over 35.

Also not as good of a fit with Purdy given his strengths and weaknesses
Don’t think the market is great for Deebo. More reputation now. Big dead cap
Charge for SF to eat of $31 mill. He’s due just $17.5 mill on the final year of his deal. But not sure if he’d play on that. Not seeing anything higher than a 4th. Kind of what guys who are basically done contract 2 in the nfl go for.

Adams, Higgins are free agents. Higgins will look to get paid. Adams has gotten his money. Now at 32 has to be thinking where he can find a place to win.

I'd be down for Adams on a 1-2 year deal once we dump Deebo for a 4th like you said

Would SF have the cap room as Purdy can get a new deal this off-season. Plus there's the Deebo dead cap of $31 mill to navigate. Can split it over 2 years if he's a post June 1 move at $10 then $20 mill in 25 and 26 respectively.

Adams can still play, but not a $30 mill top of the line WR. Probably similar to what he was making over his LV contract which was $22.5 AAV for the 3 years. Maybe a little less. But, not under say $17 mill IMO (basically $1 mill per game).
