Maybe, or it could parapraxis like WTFetus said above...

We don't know everything that's gone on...if they fired him for just this one awful mistake, then you could argue that's harsh. If they looked into it more and found other concerning incidents, then it was warranted. None of us know what that investigation produced, but down-playing that as a "simple mistake" is also wrong.
Well I’m pretty sure we would have heard from other people who have worked with him over the years saying that is the person he is if they’ve ever heard anything else bad from him.

Guarantee the “investigation “ was nothing more than dotting the I’s and crossing the t’s so that they don’t get hit with a wrongful termination case.

And it’s not at all a surprise that they announce Kuip’s termination at the exact same time they’re trying to make public a deal in Vegas that doesn’t give them half of the 395 mil they asked for….

Bob Myers stepping down. Definitely deserves a ton of credit for the dynasty, but also interested to see what’s next.
I feel like the team needs to step away from Draymond, and BM was likely going to be too loyal to the Big 3.

Welcome Bay FC

I'm starting to worry about Casey Schmitt. He still is swinging a lot, and he's in a slump. Are they going to send him down or have him work through this slump in the majors.

I haven't watched a game this year yet (the last few years have kind of turned me off actually watching baseball because of how stupidly slow it's gotten - the pitch clock sounds like a huge change of pace that I will love but I've been stupidly busy lately), but that K/BB ratio is terrifying and not in a good way.

The game is faster with the pitch clock. I think on average it was a half hour trimmed off. Sometimes I think they are rushing it too much though and the umpires are too picky with it.

Ah, the compartmentalization of an inning sport with a clock. I used to love the fact this was the one sport without one.
I dunno man, I love it. It gets rid of the parts that made baseball painfully slow...would've been good if that could've been done without a pitch clock, but that didn't happen.

If the umpires had actually forced pitchers to promptly deliver the ball, and batters to stay in the box, there wouldn't have needed to be a clock. Umpires were unable or unwilling to do that, so we get a clock.

Frankly, I would have been extremely punitive. Throw the damn ball and stay in the damn box. Pitcher gets a ball if the pitch doesn't hit the catcher's mitt within twelve seconds of receiving the ball from the catcher. Keep both feet in the box throughout the entire at-bat, or you get a strike for each step outside of the box (barring obvious exceptions, like bailing out or equipment replacement).

I like the changes to MLB overall (except one, and there's one I've just accepted). The pitcher coming in must face 3 batters or finish the inning was a great big step in the right direction. I think the pitch clock continues in the right direction.

I don't really like the DH in the NL. I've just kinda accepted it. But, the bigger bases and limited throw overs have brought back some of the non-home-run-fun I need. I think the DH and bigger bases can/will lead to less overall extra-innings. The free runner... It's sooooo bad. I wouldn't even put one on first. I think the DH plus bigger bases and the 3 hitter rules is enough to not have a lot of tied after nine situations in the first place. I do think making the bases bigger + the free runner on 2nd in extra innings is a bit much. At least make them steal 2nd now that the bases are bigger? There's a Designated Runner thing that is being tested in the minors which seems fun but weird. It's a different kind of weird, and not as egregious as the free guy on 2nd...

The free runners in extra innings... f*** all that!!! Handing out runners... even worse runners in scoring position, is an abortion of the entire game. Shoot-out after OT in hockey level stupid! It makes a bit of a mockery of the battle that was the regulation portion of the game...

If they want to change how extra innings are played why stop at free runners? Let the team batting provides the (batting practice) pitcher(s) for extra-innings. I feel like this could be a crazy role for some retired players. Work on that lack of rotation, Timmy... Develop pitches in retirement like "the lollipop" and "the meatball." Higher ERA good! Avg exit velocity better be triple figures! Can't walk anyone anyways, but strikeouts are BAD!! It could become a new, fun thing for the fans and the players. They'd have to bring out the screen, of course. For the defensive team's pitcher's protection as well as the BP pitcher, but honestly the hitters shouldn't be hitting frozen ropes back up the middle with BP pitching. But, round ball, round bat... To hell with baseball at that point. Late night tied game means an inning of vs. batting practice with live runners and defense. Separated completely from regulation innings stats. No stolen bases/no pickoff throws, each hitter sees no more than three pitches, 3 foot lead-off for base runners, secondary lead allowed. You hit three foul balls, or take three pitches, or any combination of those two options over three pitches that don't result in an out nor a hit... you just got struck out by your own team at BP in extra innings. Should be a rare and comical feat. I also feel like there should be an extension of the batting order. All position players, and sure any pitchers the manager would like to insert, go into a new, enormous, extra-inning batting order. The additional players are DH, you put your best defensive players out to play D in extra inning. I don't think there will be more than one extra inning this way.

I feel like the potential of this happening would keep asses in seats longer. For example when it's 5-2 after 7 innings and the home team looks like they can't do anything right... Boy, you leave early and the home team somehow team forces extra innings and the game ends 23-26 you're gonna be pissed...

This is how you get national, live TV coverage every time any game goes into extra innings. Putting a runner on second base for free has no imagination whatsoever. f*** you, Manfred.

And Manfred lies in a press conference and deliberately poops on A's fans. What a week.

I'm going back to Vegas tonight to see my in-laws and they've floated going to the parade tomorrow night. I responded, "You know, I don't think I would be a positive contributor to your or others' enjoyment of that event, so I think I will watch the dogs at home and play Zelda and cry."

I think that barely went over better than "EFF NO are you EFFING kidding me? You just won the Cup and took my baseball team in 36 hours. What the EFF are you thinking asking me that?"

NV Senate, then Assembly pass A's stadium bill. Signed by Governor. Next to officially apply for relocation with league.

Lots of good quotes in there. Basically all Vegas approved was public funding, absolutely nothing else. This guy doesn’t think it’ll be the A’s in Vegas.

For you A’s fans going through this, I’m so sorry. My first DBacks game when I moved to the states was actually in Oakland. The fans there were so nice and welcoming, like the Sharks fans are when I go visit as an out of town fan.

Manfred can shove it. The Bay Area has some incredible sports fans and you guys don’t deserve this. <3 you guys
