I'd sure love to have him as our QB, but he's no Montana.
Only time can answer that.
Montana was no Montana that early in his career either. Let's see what he grows into.
Everyone remembers "The Catch" nobody remembers the 3 Ints prior.

My little high school starts the road to winning the state tournament tonight. I feel bad for teams that have to play them. They could legit put up 160 pts in a 36 minute game if they played the starters the whole game. This was after the first half tonight and the 6/7/8 men were getting subbed in after 7-8 minutes into the game

So 33 a year. Right in the middle of what Talon and i thought. I obviously overestimated what he got this year because of the significant increase in cap but knew he wasnt going to be cheap. He wanted to cash in after the solid year he had.

I wonder how much income tax plays a part in players deciding where to sign in the NFL? I didn't think he was leaving TB after the season he just had there. I also didn't account for the cap going up as much as it did when I was putting prices on players.

I don't think it's on the forefront of (high paid) players minds, but that's why they (should) have their inner circle (agent, wife, finical advisor, etc.) to look at things from those angles.

Sounds like Wilson to the Steelers.

:phew:

$1.2m salary. I'd take that over whatever payday Cousins is about to get. PIT also isn't the trainwreck Denver has been in the head coaching department.

So what time does Kirko Chainz sign with the Falcons?
He'll do the same thing he did last time he was a FA, and play the 2 or more teams against each other to get the highest contract.

I just don't think Wilson is the player he was even a few years ago. I'm not the biggest fan of Cousins either but he is a much better QB than Wilson is at this point in their careers. There is a reason why Denver was ready to eat Wilsons contract before it even kicked in. I'm also not a fan of his off the field antics.

If Cousins doesn't re-sign, I would rather go with a different veteran QB who can hold the fort down for a year while whichever QB we draft (assuming we do) has time to develop into a starter and take over.

Mafield is gone. Wilson is gone. Heck even Tubiski is gone (not that I'd want him). The trash MN had last year holding down the fort won't cut it. I don't think MN is in the Fields (I'd like to see that actually) conversation.

I don;t think Wilson is the QB he was a few years ago either, but he was the best of the rest imo. And really for $1.2m it opens up cap flexibility to make the team better at other positions.
