They offered him the job back before Barry was hired. Not sure what the deal was for why he rejected it. Maybe thought he would be the head coach at Wisconsin?Leonard seems like someone who should be considered for the job.

Which is irrelevant, I was just pointing out that the NFL seems to care about 1st ballot entryAnd he didn't win any championships in between the 1st ballot and whenever he went in, correct?

I get that the Vikings need an edge rusher, but they also better damn well figure out who their qb for the future will beUsed the PFF draft simulator and had the computer select everyone but the vikings and packers.
Here's how the picks went and who I selected for each team:
1. Caleb Williams
2. Drake Maye
3. Malik Nabers
4. Marvin Harrison Jr
5. Rome Odunze
6. Jayden Daniels
7. Brock Bowers
8. Joe Alt
9. Olumuyiwa Fashanu
10. Taliese Fuaga
With the 11th pick, I have the vikings taking Dallas Turner from Alabama to replace a guy like Danielle Hunter. Other players atop my consideration were Cooper DeJean and Nate Wiggins.
12. Nate Wiggins
13. Zer'Zhan Newton
14. Laiatu Latu
15. Cooper DeJean
16. Terrion Arnold
17. Jared Verse
18. Kool-Aid McKinstry
19. JC Latham
20. Brian Thomas Jr
21. Amarius Mims
22. Bralen Trice
23. Chris Braswell
24. Byron Murph II
With the 25th pick, I have the packers taking Kamren Kinchens from Miami. Safety is a pretty significant need for the packers. Other players atop my consideration were Tyler Nubin and Ennis Rakestraw Jr.
26. Ladd McConkey
27. Troy Franklin
28. Tyler Nubin
29. Ennis Rakestraw Jr
30. Leonard Taylor III
31. Bo Nix
32. Jordan Morgan
Both Michael Penix Jr and JJ McCarthy would be my targets for the Vikings in the 2nd round.I get that the Vikings need an edge rusher, but they also better damn well figure out who their qb for the future will be
Thoughts?
And I hate this. Teams are tens of millions over the cap and then suddenly make it work by shifting money around. Seems like they can just do it indefinitely and face little consequence. It would depend on the cap situation for me, which is basically not understandable in the NFL.

If we don't sign him then we face a consequence to the tune of about 28M, I think. And I hate this. Teams are tens of millions over the cap and then suddenly make it work by shifting money around. Seems like they can just do it indefinitely and face little consequence.

I don't see the point of re-signing him. He will be a year older, less good physically, and at that number will cause us to cut some good players. We have already proven multiple time that we simply aren't good enough even with him in the lineup. Let's pull the bandaid off, and move on.
