He has sat for quite a while and I never did hear anything about an injury.Ryan hasn’t been in the team for a while.
He has been a good soldier but his best years are clearly behind him.

but think how funny itd beBetter chance of McDavid signing for 1m x8
Even if that's where he played, that's a technicality. I would mean that our 3rd pairing was basically an alternate 2nd pairing and would even get big minutes.I don’t give a toss where he’s playing in San Jose or where he played in Detroit. On this team he isn’t playing ahead of Ekholm or Nurse so 3rd pairing is the only place he’s going. That’s not an upgrade worth a 1st.
Yeah...I think there is a bit more to this. History does matter.I don’t give a toss where he’s playing in San Jose or where he played in Detroit. On this team he isn’t playing ahead of Ekholm or Nurse so 3rd pairing is the only place he’s going. That’s not an upgrade worth a 1st.
The Redwings royally screwed that one up. The value was built up on the Sharks, enough that he should easily be a 2nd pairing D on our team. A 1st seems like decent value on our end. He's not even a rental. It's a fair trade
They can’t retain. They have no retention slots.I’m ok with it if they are eating 50%. A top 4 dman at 1.7 for the next year and a half is easily worth a 1st
He's a good deal better than Kulak but my issue is if he's much better on the left side, how is this going to work?I love Walman as an add. Could be another Kulak
Really hoping we didn’t give up the 26 1st though
He’s in the AHL he’s played 8 games already for Bakersfield. He has sat for quite a while and I never did hear anything about an injury.
He has been a good soldier but his best years are clearly behind him.
This is my exact thought. So they are either hoping that Nurse can play right or Walman can play right. OR that It’s worth a first to move your third pair d to your second pair? Good player potential good value. Questionable fit. He's a good deal better than Kulak but my issue is if he's much better on the left side, how is this going to work?
Even if they move Kulak to the right, there's no openings in the top 4 on the left so I'm trying to figure out the fit unless he's on the 3rd pairing but he's too good to be on the 3rd pair and why are you giving a 1st+ for a 3rd pairing D.
Good to know. He’s in the AHL he’s played 8 games already for Bakersfield.
Even if they trade Bouchard. there's still not an opening for Walman on the left side in the top 4 if indeed it's true that he's far better on the left side. I don't remember Ekholm or Nurse playing the right side effectively either so I'm trying to figure out the fit even with a Bouchard trade. Really like the player but the fit is odd.I would not be surprised to see a Bouchard trade now... You don't bring Walman in to play on the third pair.... Going to be an interesting 24 hours..
Possibly. The flexibility here is most likely letting us move Kulak to second pairing RH with Nurse and Walman replaces Kulak with Emberson. I guess it adds some depth but geez with all the holes there are cheaper 3rd pairing LHD out there. Hopefully the cost isn’t our 1st.Yeah...I think there is a bit more to this. History does matter.
Walman isnt a 3rd pairing dman and hasnt been one for a few years now.
Word is that he can play both sides so I would be shocked if he didnt play in the top 4 similar to what Kulak has been doing up to this point.
Gives the the team a lot more flexibility.
I’m ok with it if they are eating 50%. A top 4 dman at 1.7 for the next year and a half is easily worth a 1st
Its a funny thing because after watching about 30 minutes of video of this player he looks a lot like a player that Coffey would appreciate.Possibly. Conditional pick means it's likely only a 1st if we win/make SCF
I don’t give a toss where he’s playing in San Jose or where he played in Detroit. On this team he isn’t playing ahead of Ekholm or Nurse so 3rd pairing is the only place he’s going. That’s not an upgrade worth a 1st.
