Report: Vikings interview with Jonathan Cooley blocked by Rams
Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic is reporting the Rams have blocked the Vikings from interviewing assistant defensive backs coach Jonathan Cooley for a position on their defensive staff.

O’Connell is already expected to be bringing Rams tight ends coach Wes Phillips, son of former longtime NFL coach Wade Phillips, to serve on his offensive staff.

So the Rams are apparently drawing the line when it comes to Cooley.

O'Connell will apparently be calling plays this year, something he didn't do with the Rams.

How I imagine @guitarhunterdude 's reaction. That gives me pure joy.

Eh, Vikings aren't doing shit for years now that they hired the wrong coach anyway so I'm having trouble getting as worked up about the Packers as I usually do. They'll save some money this year, might go on a playoff run, but I think they'll still probably struggle to make it over the hump.

That was way more in line with my reaction to not getting Harbaugh.

Who was the right coach? Harbaugh I assume?

There has to be a bigger things to come with all this cap available. I like Sonny Gray, but SS/3rd are complete wildcards at this point. Isiah Kiner-Falefa was a nice piece but we moved him 24 hours later. I would assume we're seeing a ton more moves here. Miranda at 3B, and FA at SS I would assume. Urshela isn't the guy for SS. I think Trevor Story might be the guy, since Correa and is $300M are not happening.

In other news, The Vikings extend Cousins in a move that makes absolutely no sense.
