approve this deal. This is the direction the team needed to go. We won't be really active in trading this year. We feel we have pieces in place. We will be wanting to move the right pieces if need be, but we will be looking to the market to complete our team.

We are extremely happy to bolster our defense in bring in a key part to our offense with this deal.

The conditional 2nd round pick is retained by the Avalanche as the Penguins signed Mueller. So the Avalanche keep their 2nd rounder.

Columbus confirms. We would like to thank Derek for his time in Columbus but we felt we wanted to go into a full rebuild. The entire organization needs to be revamped from top-to-bottom and this is just the start of our plans for this team. We feel Kyle and Peter will be NHL players as soon as next year and will slot in well with the likes of Ryan Johansen and Cam Atkinson up front moving forward.
