Dvorak now worth a 1st
Yes he is better than he has been playing. If he keeps producing he could get a first at deadline. Evans could fit in for him after that. Less offence which is better for a higher pick anyway.

I watched the Blues cast, and it was wonderful. There was not a single betting ad in any of it. This is a Canadian phenomenon only. American channels aren't doing this crap.
i did too, i saw the Weekes ad when i switched over to CGY-EDM on Sportsnet. i do see a good amount of betting ads on American broadcasts tho, just for other sports (NFL, baseball)

For next game I'm guess Pezzetta is out and Dadonov or Drouin are in. Maybe we'll see Slaf with Monahan on the third line, something like:

Caufield-Suzuki-Dach
Anderson-Dvorak-Gally
Slaf-Monahan-Hoffman
Armia-Evans-Dadonov

Monahan the third line? He's our #2 center

Pez is rusted. I prefer him over Drouin ior Dadonov any day.

I'm not sure why so many are fired up to move Monahan? I find he is a perfect veteran centerman to back-up our Captain as he matures.
We have enough veterans like him already on longer deals (Gallagher, Eddy, Allen, Savard)

I love Monahan, but if you can get a 1st for him, Kent and Jeff will do it. You can always resign him in the summer

Sometimes you have to trade away good players/likeable players in a rebuild. You can’t keep everyone and it’s not always fun. Take the emotions out of it.

Trading away at 28 year old (29 next year) on an expiring contract for a 1st is what you do in a rebuild

Same here. Really enjoyed it. Good voices, play and play complemented the action and didn't deter it, colour commentary didn't grate on my nerves.

I've always had a soft spot for Pez type players. We've all seen him play with more energy. He just didn't have it tonight. Hopefully he gets a few more games in, before being sat again.
What Hughes has done in such a short period of time has been impressive. But the decision to retain Pez over Tyler Pitlick was puzzling. Perhaps there’s an element of loyalty. But Pez is a fringe NHLer and will never be anything more.

What a difference a great coach, a player coach makes.
Remember toe nails???
The thing I love so far with MSL is it is offence offence offence. Especially with the young D. Harris has a ton of shots already and guhle and Jack make efforts on offence also. Very important for their development. And MSL is a perfect coach for CC.

Showed some great resilience on the road to roar back from the deficit and keep on filling the net. While Suzuki, Caufield and Dvorak get all the kudos (and deservedly so) I have to say that I thought Dach played a very good game. Was moving the puck very well and made some terrific plays on the goals that were scored. He has a very soft touch for a big guy.

Speaking of big guys - great to see Slaf back, and blasting away. Could have two or three tonight, with one beating Binnington but hitting iron. He unloaded on his power play goal, and had a couple of nice hits as well. I like that he seems to be finding that balance between using his size/power/skill.

Kovacevic was fantastic back there. Seemed to be all over the puck in each end. Kept taking the puck away from the Blues forwards, made some key defensive plays all night. He seems to grow more confident each game.

Kaiden Guhle. What more can you say about him? The kid looks like he's a ten year veteran out there by times. Played just under 24 minutes of excellent hockey, while his partner Savard also quietly played very well. He's the horse we've needed for a long time.

Very proud of this team after tonight's effort. Last year's team under DD, would have laid down after being down 3-1 early. MSL has them believing in themselves and each other and has brought back his version of firewagon hockey. It's fun to watch.
This is what happens when you have a management team that understands that you build a winner by prioritizing the top six and top 4 D with youth, size and skill, especially up the middle. Once you have that, then you can flesh out the rest of team with sage vets that play steady and with sandpaper.

Sadly, Bozovin focused on the opposite. By his own admission, he built from the net out with emphasis on attitude and character,

So f**ckn glad he's gone.
