Suzuki was pure luck as he actually targeted Glass in that trade.

We'll see how much of Savard's good start will last - he's been terrible until now.

I appreciate what Xhekaj brings, but the reality is he's a 5 or 6 D.

I'll give credit for Guhle, Harris and Caulfield - but it still doesn't make up for the horrible draft record during his tenure, not to mention the terrible trades and contracts he handed out which we are now trying to get out of.
You give credit to Bergevin for Caufield?? What? They were going to mess up that pick until MSL showed up. Hell no, that idiot Bergevin willl not get credited for Caufield

Yes he is better than he has been playing. If he keeps producing he could get a first at deadline. Evans could fit in for him after that. Less offence which is better for a higher pick anyway.
Maybe they should use him on the PP in the next few games and see how he responds.

I think that is the best way to describe it. The team is just better overall, so his skills just aren't quite up to snuff. It just seems though that he's not playing his usual aggressive style.
The game today is played at such a high tempo that if you can’t skate you can’t play that aggressive style effectively. You can’t hit what you can’t catch. Pez is always chasing the play. And never catching it.

Agreed, I actually noticed that a few times tonight. He'd either be late on the hit, or miss the player entirely. I don't remember him being so far behind on plays last year. As I have so far this season.

& let's be real here, no chance the young guys are playing as well as they have under the previous org. culture.

Pez’s timing is off. You just can’t replicate game conditions and responsiveness in a practise setting. Let’s give him a few more games.

Dvorak can be a valuable player, particularly when playing against an opponent that plays a heavy game. A lot of teams will be calling if Dvorak continues to play up to his potential.
I also firmly believe Dvorak is better suited for the western conference where his lack of footspeed wont be as big of an issue. It wouldnt surprise me if a western team ends up trading for him.

Trade Wideman with a pick for future considerations lol
Even if you think Wideman is the worst of the bunch you still keep him with the team because if everyone is healthy it's better for Wideman to be the 7th D then for a rookie to be sitting. And one of the benefits of the team in Laval is that when there are last minute injuries you can often recall the guy from the AHL skipping over whoever is the 7th D.

He's not really shooting. He's been passing off a lot. Matthews and Marner have been non-factors for Leafs this year. Considering how much they've invested in those 2, that can't happen. McDavid and Draisaitl are leading the charge in Edmonton. Matthews and Marner need to do it in Toronto. Both have been extremely uncommitted this year.
My opponent this week in my pool has 24 points. A third of them are from Draisaitle. 8 points in 4 games and he's not done yet tonight. I am hating on him.

I would like to keep him as the 7th D purely for the leadership role, he's clearly very well-liked in the locker room.

Guhle with a rough game tonight. Lots of questionable plays when under pressure. He will learn from this one.
It was rough. He got rocked twice by Tarasenko. Not sure if that was in his head for the rest of the night or what but he played like it.

Hard to remember he's just a rookie sometimes.
