I've noticed the third pairing struggle to retrieve and cleanly move the puck in games where thr opposition really upps the pressure. I would also like to see Heinola get in at some point to see if he can help in that regard.

Quick and accurate puck movement is one of the key features of our system.
I think that first pass is why we've seen Miller move around so much. He's a big RHD who has a bomb of a shot and is OK defensively... the first goal last night was on him for a terrible read

I think breaking up Pionk and Samberg wouldn't be a good idea at this point. DeMelo had the 2nd best +/- in the league last year so we can hope that he returns to that level of play soon. If anything I would bring salo up, send stanley down, rotate fleury and salo in with miller and see what happens. if demelo starts to regress even more swap salo and him for the top spot and see how salo performs with JMO. But that will never happen. lol
You wouldn't be sending Stanley down, you would be putting him on waivers and I can guarantee you he would be picked up.

Well that sucked. We just weren’t sharp all game and Tampa played great.

I do want to comment on Comrie though. I don’t really care too much about our backup’s stats, as long as he gives us a chance to win and I thought he was fine. Locked it down after the 3rd goal and made some huge saves in the 3rd.

Reading the past 30-40 posts and the discussion about why we need to change/change up our defence men made me wonder if I've been dreaming these past several weeks and we're not really 15-2 and leading the entire foxing league.

Nope, I just checked. 15-2 and leading the league. Phew!

HFJets gotta HFJets...

The Jets threw this game to allow Vasilevskiy to win his 300th game for it would be good for TV ratings and to have Tampa Bay beat the best team in the NHL on the same night.

It's hilarious that we lose our first game in the last 8, one that Stanley didn't even play in and losing him on waivers is somehow the 'answer'

Yeah he wasn't bad at all. If the boys played a bit better he definitely did enough to get us a win

I don't think it was the loss that brought up this discussion.. it had more to do with the quality of DeMelo's play.
Against Dallas and the Rangers he was in my opinion the best defenseman at defending. Which is breaking up passes, block shots, winning pucks on the boards, battling for net position. When you have a guy who does all these things well it complements a player who can think offensively.

1 goal 2 assists in the last 9 games, pretend top 6 Perfetan needs to do something!
Go to the net more. That's where Iafallo is scoring from. Scheifele too. He came close to beating Vasilievsky yesterday, at least I think that was him who had the goalie fishing for the puck underneath him.
