It is really embarrassing. Let Finland host the WJC from now on.
Middle of summer, people aren’t going to be travelling to Edmonton of all places to vacation for some hockey games. This summer make up tournament would likely have a higher turn out if it was in a European destinationWhat a f***ing embarrassment, every Canadian game should be a sell out. What the hell are they doing in Edmonton?
I saw yesterday curtained off the upper terraces, so the maximum is probably set well below that2,779 show up for the Canada-Latvia game. Not even the Gold Medal game with attract over 12,000 fans. I was thinking of attending one of the non-Canada games, but just too expensive, and hockey is the last thing on my mind in August usually.
They do. People who have lives on a different continent.WTF!? Don’t these players have any family or friends?
I meant nobody wanted to come see their friends/family play? 12 people is comical. They do. People who have lives on a different continent.

Would you fly to Germany to see your friend play in the WJC? Do you have time and money for it? Most people don't.I meant nobody wanted to come see their friends/family play? 12 people is comical.
What do they even have there? 50+ Tim Hortons? They all got lost at the West Edmonton Mall.
Ok but what about parents and family members? You wouldn’t go watch your child play in an international tournament?Would you fly to Germany to see your friend play in the WJC? Do you have time and money for it? Most people don't.

Worst team ? Are you on drugs or something ?No one misses Russia, they’re also the worst team on the planet (right now).

Anyways the whole point of my comment was that 12 people in attendance borderline doesn’t make sense.
Well, if they are getting only a dozen or so people buying tickets, I doubt that Hockey Canada's making any money. Wouldn't it make more sense to heavily discount the tickets to possibly lure more people in the arena? It would at least give them more concession sales.Seems like Hockey Canada needs the money (hence high ticket prizes) to pay off more allegations.
I mean, in the sense that no one wants to play them, win or lose. Worst team to face for everyone, nothing good can come with facing Team Russia these days.Worst team ? Are you on drugs or something ?
It's "working weeks" here in Europe (people usually take vacation in July). And, it's just a B-tier tournament in a really boring, far-away location. Where's all the canadian "This is OUR game!"-fans that usually fills the stands these days?Ok but what about parents and family members? You wouldn’t go watch your child play in an international tournament?

I'll just put this here for the dolts that seem to think this is an indictment on Canadian hockey fans somehow. This is from the last time Edmonton hosted the tournament at a normal time when people were actually allowed to go:
Alberta world juniors sets attendance record
And tickets then were exorbitant as well.
Just apathy for the makeup tournament as well as scorn for Hockey Canada right now.
No one wants to be associated with Hockey Canada right now.
