They had 5 games to prove as much and did nothing. Less than nothing actually. Give this line 5 games and re evaluate.

Complete effort tonight.

Loved seeing them stand up for each other and Rielly going right after Morissey.

Would hate to think what this game would have looked like without Simmonds and Clifford playing.

Really wanted to see someone paste Douch-is, but otherwise an enjoyable game to watch.

JT is looking great, Mete is really steady, and Samsonov inspiring confidence one save at a time.

On to the next one.

Samsonov looks really solid, he's pretty calm in net to (when he isn't playing the pick, which is an adventure)

I thought Tavares lead from the front as well, I loved Mo getting into it to protect the kid but JT was right there beside him

It's also great watching the boys not be bullied, I hate the guys just taking **** with no pushback

Nice to get some energy from the 4th line, here's hoping it continues

My only real complaint is Clifford seems to take a bad penalty every game.

Thought Simmonds played well.

I wouldn't mind trying NAK with Simmonds, I think NAK > Clifford at basically everything but fighting.

I think Simmonds can be still but is likely best used in certain games. He looked pretty good tonight given his role. Clifford looks a bit lost out there.

I'm a bit mystified at the Clifford acclaim. I barely noticed him. It looks bad on Leafs if he can crack the roster regularly.

I think the teams are being increasingly aggressive on Matthews and Marner this year and we need these two to keep the teams honest.

I think Simmonds at the very least will come back regular sooner than later.

as we saw last playoffs, clifford doesnt do anything besided take bad penalties. simmonds can swap in every now and again but clifford nahhhhh im good.
game got physical because these 2 teams clearly dont like each other, not because of simmer and cliff imo.

Love the second line, even more with Nicky Bobby on it! JT sniper elite, could have had 3. Cannot believe we are comparing Malgin with Robertson... that is shameful.

First line was okay, getting chances.. they might want to practice actually hitting the net.

D was good enough. Though we gave up a lot of good chances, Sammy was stellar.

the second line was complete garbage tonight. they got dominated 5 on 5 tonight , a couple more games like that there is no way that line sticks together.
also clifford has been irrelevent for years now and bring nothing to the table. he sucks and takes stupid penalties EVERY time he plays. ill be glad if he never plays again.

Simmonds was good except for that dumb penalty.
