Didn't really think about what he would sign for at all because I don't really care about mediocre guys on bad teams.

As I said if Devil fans like it then great for them. I am glad he didn't sign that deal for my team though.

Tied for 19th in goals last year. Scored the same amount of goals as Kucherov, Panarin, Gaudreau, Duchene. He scored more goals than Toews, Sedin, Skinner, Malkin, Hall, Kessel, Oshie, Kopitar.

Yes I am throwing names but there is no way you can call Palmieri "mediocre."

Boucher-Zajac-Palmieri
Zacha-????-Smith-Pelly
Josefson-Fiddler-Kalinin

they also have Beau Bennett. It seems as though Shero/Hynes might see Zacha as a winger based on recent interviews, but I am not sure who plays 3C at the moment.

Zacha gonna be a center. Hall and Cammalleri are both LW.

I wouldn't expect 30 every season.
If he plays 82 games every year, I would expect 23-27 goals. However I wouldn't be shocked if he hit 30 again in his career.

I don't see anything wrong about signing a 25yo F who's going to be a regular 25 goals scorer to an under $5M AAV deal.

just curious, why do you think he's not a good player/his performance in the past doesn't indicate that he'll sustain the same level of play?

Having watched him play, moreso in Anaheim than NJ, and looking at his numbers. When I have watched him he doesn't have a very good shot, he isn't tough, he isn't shifty and isn't a great passer.

There is nothing in his game that is impressive or indicates to me that he will be a decent scorer at the NHL level.
