I wonder what the cost would be. If they got him and resigned Meier... not to mention plug in Nemec and Luke Hughes... that team is loaded top to bottom.

Toffoli probably didn't have that much value, guessing other offers were just a second round pick or something. Yegor is at least a third line player whose not old, I'll take a chance on him and a third rounder over just a second rounder if that was the case tbh. That's one less older, overpriced free agent we can bring in
9M to Meier = 9th forward
Bastian/Boqvist/McLeod are all RFAs who I can't imagine cost more than 5M total = 12 forwards
Bahl as the 6th D who is RFA without arb rights, maybe 1-1.5M max = 6th defender
12/6/2 with 3-4M to spare for the remaining bench spots (likely filled from within with ELCs Holtz, Clarke, Thompson, Nemec, etc.), possibly a depth defenseman as Nemec insurance

You really don't have to. Situationally, faceoffs can be important. I'm not sweating them in general

Devil's very well could have the best group of forwards 1-12, at least in the East. Toffoli is a huge addition
