I'm excited to see what games come out at release/soon after.

Looks like Mario Kart will be part of that release window. Do we get Metroid Prime 4 at the start? What about a new 3D Mario game?

Lots to speculate on!

Metroid Prime 4 would be pretty big.
They have a good opportunity I believe to have a massive launch in regard to new releases.

Also, I'm anticipating an Oct/Nov release date, based on the Switch 2 Direct timing in April.

Counterpoint: The Direct is scheduled for 3 months after the reveal (January -> April 2025). They did the same thing for the Switch (October 2016 -> January 2017). Switch launched 2 months after its' Direct (January -> March 2017). If they use that same timeline for the Switch 2, that would mean a June release.

Interesting that they're not elaborating on it until April. There's a couple month gap with basically no releases. Have to assume there's some kind of direct before then.

Crazy that MK8 is over 10 years old. It's almost wild to see a new one.

I'm happy as long as I can play my Switch gamed on it.

Ideally, some get a performance boost (like BOTW, so the towns and forest don't dip below 20 fps).

A new Mario Kart is an easy sell to the casual audience, so I get it, but I don't really know how much more then could add to MK8D to make me want another Mario Kart. Truth be told, very few of the tracks made since Double Dash have been great...

Backwards compatibility was a given. Nintendo have done it for most of their consoles except those that used a different format.
