Your Favorite Goalie Save of All-Time

A tremendous effort to prevent the Bruins from getting on the board first at home with a 3-1 series lead, Bozak would open the scoring a couple minutes later and the Leafs would go on to win 2-1 and send the series back to Toronto for Game 6

Internationally it's a toss-up between Tokarski and Visentin at the WJC, Tokarski's save was more impactful while Visentin was more impressive

I will never forget this save.

Its ironic because Nabokov isnt really that significant on the leaderboard of greatest goalies, even in his era, even in his peak, but that save really is such a strong candidate for the goat save.

The part that really makes it for me is that it isnt really a case where Nabokov made an error and got caught, the setup to Richards was the kind of thing that happens in playoffs OT where you just shrug and say you cant plan for a bounce like that. Nabokovs positioning is a little aggressive to that far post and outwards on the angle, but not excessively so, he just has a ton of space to cover getting back and Richards already has it aimed and elevated high enough that it cant be a pad save, and theres no way just trying to slide back to use his chest to make the save is going to work.

Its beautiful, and it really represents everything goaltending is supposed to be about.

Hard to pick just one, but this with Rick Jeanneret commentary always gives me chills

RJ was great. Totally get why other fanbases would hate him if they had to hear him a lot because he was the biggest homer in the world, but he knew hockey. He was sort of the prototype for Jack Edwards. Both guys who knew the sport inside and out, but were also biased and yet still fun to listen to.

Rangers/Islanders playoff game. Early 80s. Rangers spending a lot of time is Islanders zone. Puck comes to Reijo Ruotsalainen. Wide open. Point blank range. Fires a BLAST. Billy Smith makes a sprawling save. Ruotsalainen raises his stick because he was SURE he scored. Except he didn't and that stick was bashed on the ice in frustration

Billy gets up and catches Ruotsalainen's eye. Nods at him and says " Have a nice ride home"

In 01 and 03, Detroit outplayed their opponents but got goalied by Potvin/JSG respectively. So it's not hard to imagine Roy is spectacular in game 6 and gets Colorado to a guaranteed SCF win/repeat. I mean that is what was happening up to that point. Colorado was getting outplayed all over the ice. But Roy was Roy....until this goal. After the Forsberg OT goal in game 5, Colorado never scored again.

The roof came loose in game 6. It collapsed in game 7.
