I love how Nintendo is keeping the game alive, but let's be honest, this game isn't good and it stems from the gameplay. Having to drift around every corner to keep your speed takes a ton of fun away from it and the AI is omega cheap the higher the level you play. Blue shells galore, especially on the last lap at 200 cc. I appreciate the people who grind their way through this because it seems like the most unfun chore I've seen.
8 is by far the best Mario Kart, and 200cc is more of a bonus mode than how the game is meant to be played. As in 200cc wasnt originally in the game at all.

I don't see the big difference. Mario Kart 64 was my favorite but I can't say the games have gotten significantly worse or different on the Switch. I guess now I just prefer Forza Horizon online with others or maybe Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown when that comes out.

Double Dash is the GOAT.

I really like this latest entry although the formula is getting stale
I think this is part of the reason there's no MK9, and the fact that MK8D still sells incredibly well even 6 years later.

I love Double Dash to death, lots of good memories but it definitely can feel a bit aged in some areas. Plus it kicked off the whole "AI destroys you at will" trend that permeates throughout the subsequent entries.

It's got to be doable right?

That was my favourite item lol!
You'd have to basically bring in a bunch of items that aren't already in the game. The problem is that a good chunk of the specials in DD are just regular items in subsequent games.

You lock triple shells behind Koopa Troopa and he instantly becomes the most sought after character in the game.

Hipster opinion but Crash Team Racing was a way more fun racing game than MK. MK always felt so random and chaotic, winning races in CTR meant you drove the best.

With the Switch 2 rumours becoming more prominent. I'm curious to hear peoples wish lists for the next generation console. What do people want to see from Nintendo?

From the console or from the games? Since they combined their handheld and home market into one platform, I assume the next console will look really similar to the Switch, with a different screen, obviously. I think it'll launch with the Lite handheld only option.

As for games, an updated Tears of the Kingdom and all its DLC is a given. It'll be backwards compatible with the Switch and it's thousands of games from the get go. I'd like a new Mario Odyssey game, or something different.

I just want a more powerful Switch with a better screen and without joystick issues. If the next Nintendo console isn't a Switch 2 (or named something else), I'm going to be damn disappointed.

The rumours suggest a return to an LCD screen which is disappointing.

What I would like to see is backwards compatibility, a new 3D Mario game and a Pokemon game that doesn't look like it was made by 3 people in Unity over a weekend. Also joysticks that don't drift. DLSS support when docked would be great.

I was just thinking the other day about how most of Nintendo's massive back catalog is on Switch in some form, either through the online service or rereleases.
Some people love to mock the Switch for being under powered but it's such a retro and indie heaven. It's also the only console that still gets most releases in physical form unlike the PlayStation or the Xbox so it's also amazing for collectors.

I want to see a tastefully restrained and faithful yet smooth/polished Super Metroid remake (not that I 100% trust anybody to do it right). That game has a perfect masterpiece of a skeleton, progression/map design, mood/ideas, and aesthetic, it just has a few tiny superficial things that can feel a little janky.

Zero dialogue outside of the opening crawl, limited instruction, but a smidge more intuitive would be perfect.

I'd be okay with the Dread team giving it a crack, even though I'm not sure they would do it right.
